Hi Gribbstar, It should be enough. Patrolling guards dont leave their post except when metal detector goes off or when there is a fight ... afaik. I do not know how many guards or which % are assigned to escorting prisoners. Priority list is something like: - Rest - Opening doors - Patrolling - Dist...

only solution that worked for me was clearing the infirmary.
... remove the bed that keeps them stuck and place it differently

how fast does a prisoner actualy walk?

As I was guessing alot about walking speed, I decided to do an actual walking speed test
The answer is 5 tiles per minute


The prisoner below walked about 190 tiles in 38 minutes (The 17 you see below is a length of 17x10 + some)

its a challenge :-) The AI seems to be programmed to find routes on the fly, time and again. So route from Canteen to Yard doesn't get its own declaration which than gets used by 1 or more prisoners. optionally: Or ... both routes are declared and are randomly choosen. looks like recalculation of light and shadow every so often to match the time of day.


workers can be the center of a pulse of light as well, though have only seen it during clearing of a very large area without lights.

just create wings with a max amount of prisoners. I choose 160 prisoners per wing. But you can do 40 as well per wing. And each wing has anything it needs, or you want to provide. Or make single canteen with 24/7 eat time regime. + everything a prisoner needs, from beds to toilets to pool tables etc.

Not sure about this:

Prisoner speed is about 0.7-1 tile per game minute ... 700 tiles would be about 12 - 17 game hours. ... that is in a straight line. at normal speed. fast speed tile halfs it to about 6 - 8 hours.
