... but its bad sportsmanship to play like it and expect your opponents to not hate your guts for using up their precious time ... I haven't reviewed the game, but extended real-time play is not always bad sportmanship. It depends. No doubt "rage slow" (intentional real-time play for no o...

Thank you for sharing this. Contrary to some of the Commentors, I found this article very interesting. The "definition" and discussion of trust is perfect, imo, in that it captures the aspect of behavioral prediction of others for ones own purposes . At its bottom it is such a Darwinian th...

You are so kartoffelsuppe Potato soup? and so Sauerkraut Not sure about this one either, except that since sauerkraut (which I enjoy) is made of cabbage, it reminds me of the cole slaw I had in germany made with red cabbage. It was the very best I have ever tasted. Only problem: it turned my urine ...

Cooking Class!

So I don my hauberk and join a server for battle only to find an endless discussion of ... cooking! First it's souffles, then soups. On and on it goes, and endless stream of whisking, boiling, corn, etc., and german translations thereof. I plead for battle, but the chefs unite and continue on. Argh....

People get so sucked into video games that their brains create a dopamine reward system for it. ... The wildest thing I've noticed, is how fast my heart beats during a match ... Great games I can recall... True, but these memories, while lasting, have lost their vivacity and don't give me the emotional charge I'm looking for. they're just points. Really? I feel it is intense mental combat with a scheming opponent who has designs on raping and pillaging my citizens. But cur...

The Psychology of Defcon

I am sure there are multiple aspects to the Psychology of Playing Defcon, but here is one that I'd like to explore. How long does the emotional feeling of the last game played stay with you? I worded the Poll question a bit differently because, for me at least, I must first mentally recall the last ...
