I started summer of '08, left it for a year, came back spring '09, left it for half a year untill '10. Haven't taken a break longer than a month since. A couple of months ago it was a game every day for weeks on end. Now I play at least a couple times a month (pace slowed recently, busy with Real Li...

Australia and Indonesia need a lot more cities, as almost all of India-Oceania cities end up in India, especially when on totallyrandom city configuration

I played a game with US-NATO vs argentina-brazil and realized that arg-bra has no way or defending itself from the pacific, perhaps if they could place fleet in pac they'd do better because a game between any pacific power and arg-bra is scewed. Also, the Arab league has the same problem but with th...

I just tried it out and... it's indescribably awesome However, I have acomment to make. your west-ussr and east-ussr division can cause trouble, say if territory or alliance assignment is random. After a test, I figure the west has an advantage over the east, but both are vulnerable without each oth...

Altering the numbers of cities and populations makes a big difference in the outcome of games. Think this thing with the CPU having a problem killing low cities might be related?

CPU challenge

So, a couple months ago, I wanted to try to test myself against the CPU. "But hold on, the CPU plays worse than noob!" you may say, but the CPU has one great strength: numbers. I found it impossible to beat the CPU when outnumbered 2 v 1 or 4 v 2 in survival mode. But recently, I won a mat...

This game isn't about what is probable. Nuclear war is highly improbable yet there are countless games about it -including DEFCON and it's respective mods.
Use your imagination! 8)
Besides, don't these scenarios sound fun? games are about entertainment, not realism.

fleet exposure

I noticed that less experienced players often commit their fleets to battle, charge them forward, etc. But experienced players hide their fleets until later in the game, using the minimal amount required to turtle and/or hold off the opposing fleets. It's not even about maneuver, the fleets do usual...
