We're assuming here that prisoners will do crazy shit whenever they want. I fully expect them to develop an awareness of when they're being watched and start doing peculiar things whilst you can't see them. That won't mean they will stop the amusing stunts they pull completely, but that they would b...

The reason the link doesn't work is because you aren't a part of the alpha development group. This is as a result of one of two things: 1) You didn't register your game key with your forum profile: http://www.prison-architect.com/register 2) You didn't actually buy the game at all. If it's the latte...

I like the idea of happiness, or rather - I like the idea of a positive emotion that slowly decreases, compared to the current list of needs that are very negative and it can only mean bad things when they are full. I think your examples of how happiness should be brought about need to be worked on,...

Anybody else find that bureaucracy doesn't actually cost anything... Or am I just so horrifically rich that I don't notice it deducting money?

Strictly speaking this is still the 'current' poll, it's just that as of Alpha3 Fog of War was the closest to completion and rather than just leaving it kicking around, they released it. Alpha4 merely amended their previous update. Presumably, given it's popularity, Sectors and Zoning is being worke...

It's everybody, but only some people at the same time. That is to say, it's a universal problem with the game, but not everybody gets the memory leak all the time. Given that the game monitors each member of staff and every single prisoner as an individual element - constantly updating their needs a...

Help?

Is there a guard stationed at the monitors? otherwise the monitors won't turn on, thus the cameras won't work.

for simplicities sakes, %LocalAppData% takes you straight into the Local appdata folder. There are a few save-game editors kicking around here as well. The search function doesn't work atm, but they allow you to do this pretty simply amongst other things. Probably kicking around on the wiki as well...

In previous games I've played we tend to get little clues, or discussion points which I feel would have helped give the humans more of a fighting chance, or at least something tangible to discuss during the day. Not as in "a grumble came from within Koshensky's cell that sounded almost exactly ...

Ok, so if I'm reading it right - it looks like your graphics driver could do with some updating. I did a little test on my game to see what the debug would say if I removed my own preferences file, and it goes a little bit like this: alpha-3 pc vanilla compiled 12:18:50, Nov 1 2012 Loading Preferenc...

Oh golly. Swindled by my own team. I think the gang element ended up making it too easy to play. I don't know if any other gangs explicitly formed teams, but ours didn't (or I wasn't in it...), and based on what I was watching play out it didn't really look like the gangs were being used. As w...

There was a thing on the previous page where NeatNit voted for himself and I found it amusing so joined in the whole "I'm a wolf" "no I'm a wolf" thing by voting for myself. Rather than causing confusing by reinstating my previously rescinded vote, I just rescinded everything and...

I don't want to accidentally forget to vote, and come back to find that I accidentally cast the deciding vote against myself. That would be embarrassing.

So: claims of being Spartacus aside, my vote remains with Foxsake.

The deployment screen might need a bit of redesigning, but it does make sense once you know what's going on. Primarily: All rooms (four walls and atleast one door) count as a zone, and allow you to deploy a guard within that area. Under the deployment menu, left clicking in a zone adds a guard, and ...
