As far as I can tell, Prisoners have no effect on Janitors apart from when they are rioting. That's interestesting. I'd never tested it that way before, I always just assumed that the fact a prisoner was assigned to a cell scared the janitor off (quite rightly, really) I wonder how it could work......

You're also forgetting that publishers do a lot more work than handing the devs money and taking a cut. They also do things like arranging distribution deals with retails chains, handle advertising, and get the physical stuff done. All things that their size and influence allow for much better deal...

Depends how you look at it really. If we take something like the Call of Duty franchise - that's a prime examples of a AAA game title released by publishers, yet there's no reason why they couldn't run on exactly the same model as Introversion did for Prison Architect.
