As to the person who says they've got better stuff to do, when you start up a game there is an unspoken agreement that you will play it to completion. If you don't intend to finish the game then why are you starting the game? 1) I know of no such agreement. Last time I checked, playing this game is...

I do, that was cheap. Someone hands you your ass, then you should take it gracefully and compliment them on their victory. Anything else is the action of a whiny ass titty baby. Is he cheap because of what he said, or is he cheap because he quit? I gotta be honest, if I'm in a 1v1 game, and I'm tho...

<sigh> What has the world come to?

Everybody knows that if you're going to call a "Towel Head" the N-word, you gotta put "sand" in front of it.

Get your racial epithets right, kids.

People who attempt to flee after the bomb hits will probably die. Fallout starts coming about 15 minutes after the blast. It is very unsafe to be outside from about 15 minutes after the blast (i.e. when the fallout starts falling) till about 2 or 3 weeks later.

Silos. Lots and lots of them.

Well, shit, man, we'll just leave them in SAM mode and we'll be good to go!

I thought that was Mount Weather? Mount Weather is a hollowed out mountain near Bluemont, Virginia. It was designed to hold everyone in the Cabinet, Senate, House of Representatives, and of course the President and Vice President (plus some other people) in the event of a catastropic attack on Wash...

I think Defcon, with its precious nukes and irreplaceable units takes a step in the right direction - and you seem to like that, don't you? I like it, but I don't necessarily think that every RTS should follow in its footsteps. I think it's right for Defcon. Trying to transplant those concepts into...

My bugbear with a lot of strategy games is that armies don't need to be resupplied and have infinite ammo, and that damaged or injured units generally have the same capabilities as healthy ones. This usually favours endless streams of expendable soldiers, and strategy goes out of the window. It's a...

Here is what Sirlin is trying to say: that there are good players, bad players, and scrubs. Good players are, well, good. They have a large experience base to draw upon, so they are not in unfamiliar situations all that often. And when they are in unfamiliar situations, they are quickly and accurate...

I played a game in my boss's office (with my boss there) during a teleconference earlier this week. Unfortunately, it made my laptop too sluggish to alt-tab to check mail and catch PowerPoint up on the slides, and it also turned it into a frying pan for my crotch, so I had to exit early (I was only ...

I have been playing Defcon for quite some time now and I consider the following to be a cheat, even more so because so many people seem to have discovered it: Russia and Europe teaming up and concentrating their air defenses in the small European Continent-area. There is NO getting through this for...

From teh all knowing Wiki: CVBGs have no definitive specification and are formed and dissolved on an ad-hoc basis, and one may be different from another. However, they all comprise similar types of ships, and a typical U.S. carrier battle group might include: -a carrier, usually Nimitz-class or Kitt...
