Actually, Europe would fire on NA missiles inbound for western Russia in a height based solution, just not in the crappy solution you came up with. In a height based solution, Europe would fire on the missiles because they would be in their final re-entry phase and would be within range. On the oth...

I'm saying that it gives me information that I would not be entitled to have under the current rules. Think of the converse. I see NA unload its silos. 5 minues later I see Europe's SAM sites go crazy. Well, I guess NA's missiles aren't headed my way (since Europe wouldn't fire on them if they were)...

Good job! Then you put them somewhere else. An altitude based system of SAM capability would certainly change the gameplay a bit; nobody suggested it wouldn't. I think the suggestion is that it'd change it for the better. Why don't I just change the name of my Iron Curtain cities to St. Bombmebackt...

Are you willing to bet that you've played more games of Defcon than the developers and testers? Are you willing to bet that you know more about game design than the developers? Have you considered the fact that it may not be possible to simultaneously prevent "collateral defense" while at ...

Minor UI fix

I have a Thinkpad laptop issued to me by my employer. Thinkpads have two built in pointing devices, a standard touchpad and the little red thing embedded in the keyboard between the H, B, and G keys (when I was in college, a friend of mine referred to this thing as "the clit"). Anyway, I u...

The game doesn't recognize who was a faithful ally and who backstabbed. The game only recognizes winning and losing. Play to win.

Although this is quite fun, I am afraid that if this "trend" continues and players get much better, we will end up with "eternal" standoffs where the players play a perfect game, and no one can make a move. Well, a wise old military simulation computer did once remark "the ...

Given sufficient time and knowledge, anyone with physical access to a computer can do whatever he/she wants to it (except possibly cracking encrypted files). That includes locking/deleting this thread.

They have Tom Cruise syndrome, except they're not as good. They have a tendency to disobey orders, but unlike Maverick, they don't make it back to the carrier before they run out of fuel.

I've been charged with small amounts of collateral damage when I play as NA against an AI Africa, which is odd because I've never been in a situation where I didn't have unchallenged air superiority over my own continent. None of my own nukes were ever shot down over my territory.

I was disappointed that out of the box, the only cities in the Middle East were Tehran and Cairo. I would love to nuke the hell out of Saudi Arabia, Iran, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Lebanon and Chechnya.

The guy is a fucker because he called you lame. I never meant to imply otherwise. Anybody who quits with a hail of insults directed at the other player(s) is a fucker, and is worthy of being lampooned here or anywhere else.
