Re: Exactly
Yeah, I've heard of aim bots and stuff from Battlefield 2 but I thought the only way to cheat in Defcon was to communicate with a spectator via IM or phone or something. Yeah, and that involves precisely zero technical knowledge. And can be prevented from happening by disabling spectators - please ...

Re: Spectator Mode Latency
This doesn't happen very often when I'm playing but when spectating, sometimes I get high latency problems. I don't know why the network issues are different for players or spectators. Has anyone else noticed that? Also, I've found that when I get the latency warning, if I zoom in to anyplace on th...

Re: Diplomacy...obsolete?
I'm not keen on Diplomacy and tend to avoid it if I can. It seems to me that with players getting better and more tactically aware this mode is pointless. In the last game I played Europe did nothing...for the whole game. Don't get me wrong they played a good game...their units were very well posit...

Why would you use both?? :?: :?: Seriously, learn how to follow a conversation. The only justification for using both I've heard so far in this conversation is to cheat. Why else would you use both? wwarnick Because you've got a machine at home and a laptop ? If your machine at home was logg...

Invisible armies!
In an attempt to repeat the above problem, I tried the sequence again. The main difference in my actions this time was that I attempted to connect to one server, it never connected after 6 attempts so I gave up waiting then I tried a different one. The result was different too. Instead of coming up ...

Ok, badness happens when downgrading to non-mod games
Right, here's what I thought I'd do. Test out that the auto-downgrade works properly. It doesn't always - I've had it work before but not this time (a moment ago). I'm guessing this must be a rare thing, because nobody else has commented on such a failure. Here's the sequence I performed: 1. Start D...

I have an idea as to why the nukes might slowly reduce over time, even though they're not actually available - I have no idea if it's right. I've just checked whilst playing the game and it's not correct. Oh well, it was just an idea. My understanding is that the nukes in the scorebox are all of th...

most of the mod problems were cus that map was namtih's cold war minimod and only had 3 of the 6 countries being playable instead my full 6-player polar mod (they're both good for different games) I've just played a full game on the non-cold war one, and the random territories were fine. The calcul...

Here's my feedback. Well, I tried it with Steam using the instructions given and it seems to work ok. The way I did it was to copy the desktop shortcut and paste it elsewhere on the desktop, select 'properties' from the new item's menu, and add the '-beta defcon1204' to the end of the command to run...
