There's only so many cities to pick from. If we were to fit in every single town and city that had an airforce base, defense or weapons companies, silos, or the like, we wouldn't have room for anything else! Personally I feel Phoenix is a better choice of targets than Tucson, and if Tucson were infa...

If I had to choose between Birmingham and Atlanta, I would choose Atlanta. It's more well-known, and is a fairly important city, being the main headquarters of CNN and some other companies. It just seems more likely a target than Birmingham. I also noticed Hiroshima and Anchorage when the cities are...

1.42 default city changes

I've noticed that in a default game with default settings, some of the cities have been changed. For example, Ciudad (whatever) east of Phoenix is no longer there, and instead Portland, Oregon takes its place. Birmingham is also gone in favor of Atlanta (yay!). Menia, Egypt is gone now for a city in...

A lot of the sounds are messed up, for example, some dude starts talking when a nuke hits, it only plays the "Fwoooosh *THUD*" noise about half the time.

Is there anyway to brighten the fonts and the city icons? They're incredibly hard to see against the black background unless I zoom in. I don't even have to be zoomed out at maximum for the city icons to disappear from sight. Anyway to fix this?

Ahh yes, I love the sounds. The chatter seems a bit out of place, with "Confidence is high" being repeated a lot before nukes are fired, but beggars can't be choosers. Also, the missle impact noise seems to make this... staticy, computery, clicking sorta sound. It dulls out the *THUMP* tha...

Nice mod, but what's this about alternate/extra sound? Has this been implemented into the mod yet? I havn't noticed any. Also, I think the city text should be brightened some. It's hard to read unless you zoom in. I also find that allies on the blue team are really dark and hard to see.

Odd, I've never seen this occur. I should investigate it.

Re: Some ideas

- Option for "dud rate". Let's be realistic, not all of them are going to make it. Some wont even get off the ground. Just to note that according to the statistics I worked though, nukes in Defcon do not make kills 100% of the time. NeoThermic Really? Could you elaborate perhaps? I've nev...

I actually find myself watching more than I play a lot of the time. I hate it when players disable specs on a good 6 player diplomacy. I guess if your connection just barely meets the minimum to host, I can understand, but for fear of cheating is obnoxious.

Explosions

Does anyone besides me notice that the explosions seem to dim a lot quicker than in 1.3 and before? I dunno, it just seems like they become dimmer much faster and it looks kinda hokey. What sort of changes were done to the explosion effects in 1.4 and beyond, and how can I reverse them? Thanks.

I can safely say that 1.41B2 works like a charm. After spectating a few 6 player CPU games with maximum possible amount of things on screen at once (World scale 200, variable unit counts), I can safely say there was no slowdown. Play-testing 1v1 against the CPU works just fine too. So far things are...

On the subject of my screwed up airfields: No. None of them were full. The only one full with bombers at anytime was the unglitched airfield. The only one they landed at is my western most one. The other 3 were empty the whole game after I launched them. They REFUSED to land there, even though none ...
