NeoThermic, any chance you might divulge where your written guide is hiding?

Thanks!

I checked out www.neothemic.com as well. No joy. Guess I'll either google it, or wait for a response.

thanks,

I found Chris' thread on the topic, but most people were reporting times over 30 minutes per level, up to 1:30.

No luck so far.

OK, this sucks. Searching for "minute guide" with an author of "neothermic" found nothing. So, I deleted the author field and tried again. But noooooo! I have to wait a while before I can search again. If the forum is going to be that stingy with cycles (esp. at 2:12AM EDT), at l...

Thanks xander and NeoThermic. I do appreciate the offer, but I was never doubting xander, and I was really saying something more like, "It would be fun to see that!" I'd pick up a few pointers, and it would be fun to see a master at work. That's all. That said, I think it would be awesome ...

I'd like to see that!

Maybe so, but I get to enjoy it longer!

"Not a lot of replay value?" Even without the mods, no way. Also, the reviewer said the game took 8-10 hours to complete. Wha? How many cases of Jolt(tm) cola does that include? I spent 17 hours the first day alone, and close to 40 hours total the first time through. And that was in full-o...

Indeed, but can the chocolate in a pop-tart be considered good?

xander

Not IMHO.

Damn you, trickfred! Taking care of the newbie's problem whilst I am out and about. At any rate, I am glad you are sorted. And remember, folks, Insurrection does require the latest version of Darwinia -- perhaps I should put that in the README.txt... xander It's too bad there isn't a way for a mod ...

Just to lob in an idea or two from the peanut gallery... I'm not the expert, so take it with a grain of salt... When you're in Discovery, do you see a squad in the Task Manager? There should be 6 in the squad. (Dumb question, but covering all the bases...) If so, type a "1" (number one, no...

Yeah, that might have sounded a bit rude on second read-back... Sorry, no offense meant, seriously. The point is moot anyways, no equivalent system exists on the Mac, which is all I really needed to know. Oh, good. Thanks for clarifying; you caught me off guard for a sec there. Cool. -ShepFan

Also, does the Mac have the equivalent of the Windows Registry, or would I have to create a preference file for my program that creates preference files? Having coded on both platforms, I think the non-Registry approach is easier, simpler and safer. It's too easy to hose the whole system when playi...

What language does one usually write programs in on a Mac? C, C++, Objective-C, Fortran, RealBASIC, Java, AppleScript, to name a few. Office Mac comes with "Visual Basic for Applications," but it looks to be just for writing things like Excel macros. Too bad! Also, does the Mac have the e...
