If topics were meant to not have replies they would be closed or delete. If they weren't meant to have replies after X days have past, they would be automatically closed or delete. And no, it doesn't matter if the moderators on this site are not active anymore. If IV didn't want topics or replies ad...

That says everything. You were using an outdated version of uplink that allowed you to purchase the motion detector or self-destruct even if your memory banks were too full for the software that it requires to run. What you need to do is update your uplink to the current version, open the game again...

The logs and files related to the letter in question were never there in the first place. That is why the login in the letter never worked. By using that login you have entered in to the storyline :)

He had a valid questions related to the topic. The fact that he DID bump a 4 year old topic means that he used that search function that you in this community also frown upon people not using. So make up your god damn minds. Search for a topic and bump it, or don't search and create new topics. Whic...

Have you tried using a lower resolution during game play or are you using the maximum? Window mode will not matter because even then it will be based on the resolution of your desktop. If in full screen mode you are using the 1280x1024 resolution, please try a lower resolution.

You had to exit the game completely before the gateway was set properly?
Or did you log your agent to the first uplink screen (login/options, etc)

Daveman, you don't have to register to view/ or post in most areas on the forum :) That is an interesting view, I'll have to read up on it more. The issue with ajax is that it doesn't allow for incomming signals at all! Which is, un fortunatly, a very big downside :( We are looking in to way to get ...

I totally understand what you are saying Krid, but as I said, neither I nor anyone currently in the group has enough experience programming in either Java or C++. I agreed that the best alternative is exactly what you have been pressing. I just don't see how we could possibly do so given the experie...

A java clone is still currently under development here: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/uplink/viewtopic.php?t=35578 I'm sure that those developers would rather have people join them rather than trying to compete. Heck, more project members makes a project more likely to succeed in most cases anywa...

I agree, I just couldn't think of what to call it until we decided on a name. I probably will change the name sometime today now that I can think a little more clear-minded. The ideas with Flash (especially the 3D Aspect) and Java are good, unfortunatly I have very limited experience in those fields...

Very good point you have made. (Wow, what am I?? Yoda? >_<) There are other forms of communication that we could use rather than XML, which, with all of it's tags, is heavily bloated in size. We can send plain text executable js code and eval based on that (client-side/return) and send plain text da...
