*I* do not say never ever. *every single one* of today's crypto expert say it. Look, I'll try to explain it in non technical terms: Say you want to encrypt 10 characters. What you do is take a file with 10 totally random characters (and by totally random I mean readings from geiger counters and part...

oh dear oh dear oh dear. don't get me started about "hackers". Actually, that's what hurts about this movie - they HAD a consultant. It mentions too much technical stuff - PDP-10, Wired, Torvalds, Vernam cypher. But they got it ALL WRONG. *sigh* It would be better if they DIDN'T do research.

just to be nice and complete the info, cuz after reading your reply he won't bother to search: Actually it's 2 other computers, Introversion's idea is to let you feel like those ubercool guys in "hacker" movies, with 3 or 4 monitors in front of you all doing swirly things :) Think "Ta...

*spank Ultradeathmatcher, then sit on him and gag him*

There, Kaddy dear, now tell us about Ultimate Knowledge. You know you want to, plus you DON't want me spanking you too (or maybe you do, but if so please keep it to yourself)

oh, come on. This is by no means a flame post, since I respect your right to be offended by any remark. But worse has been said, and people neem to realize that in a medium as diverse as the Internet, if you go around cutting all remarks that could possibly offend even one person in the universe of ...

well, on the budget side, if you are pressed for cash, get a geforce 2 MX or GTS. I got a GeForce 2 Titanium by Hercules for about 200 bucks, and it's a pretty good card. if you managed to live with an i740 until now, you probably will be sufficiently dazzled by the performance of a "lower that...

well, actually that's wrong. Vernam encryption IS impossible to crack - mostrly because it uses one-time keys, which means that cracking the data is the same as trying all combinations of symbols the same length of the data, to see which one makes "sense" - which is obviously ridiculous. F...

well, went to see it. It was *kinda* fun, but all the bloody mistakes in technical stuff just got me off it a little. Like the "fantastic" 128!!! bit encryption, or the Finnish guy (named Torvalds - heh) speaking German!!! or the breaking of a Vernan-cypher encrypted piece of data. BLERGH :)

well, first of all: either your version of XP is pirated, or it's legit. If legit, good luck being bled dry with "upgrade programs". If it's pirated, you are obtaining advantages thru theft. Big deal. XP is a pain. A shitload of network protocols are not supported now, and it won't let you...

XP does what it should do, that's right. as long as you are nice and content letting it do everything for you. I like my OSes to *assist* me in the tasks I undertake, not hinder me with moronic "you are too dumb, let the bright people at microsoft take care of it for you". I'll take enough...
