Ok.

I can't remember when SystemV became BSD, do you?
or did SCO buy the rights for SysV too?

Linux is based on BSD though, I think it was some thing
like BSD 2.3 or something around that.

(damn, I cant remember my unix map by heart) :)

BSD is just Berkley's version of UNIX, as Linux is Linus Torvalds' version (which he wrote from scratch). So both BSD, Linux, and others like SCO are all UNIX. only ISDN that uses both lines are 128, which few actualy doo, because the thing with ISDN is you are able
to use your phone line while using your data line.

mc is Midnight Commander, run'ed from xterm/rxvt or what ever you use.

I think I read some thing a'bout the issuses with RH 6(+)
but I can't remember, try reading the patch.txt file or the readme file for linux

just being sure, you do use XWindows(KDE/Gnome) right?

Nope, the Assembly is mainly for the servers parts, which runs on Unix Only machines and only i386 arch so it'll be portable. try learn a little Asm, before making a statment like that. it'll only be a problem if someone is going to use a MIPS, or a M86000, or something like that. but who has a SGI ...
