Alternatively, the other way to make building easier would be the ability to markup the map like the OP said. Basically have the ability to put green squares on the map that do absolutely nothing. The only alternative right now is to use fences (that is, green squares that tell your workmen to go bu...

Full-on Z- levels don't seem very likely, but the idea of there being prisoners "hiding" from your overhead view is interesting.

It would be awesome if you could go into a separate mode (rather than an overlay on the map), where you design an entire building including room designations, furniture and maybe utilities. Then you can return to the regular gameplay mode and plonk that building down where you want it, with one clic...

I don't think there's currently any workaround for this. You'll just have to wait until the developers can patch it :)

That actually would make sense. And it's not like it would add any difficulty to the game, since indoor lights already need electricity - doors and lights are usually always near each other, since they're both associated with "indoor" areas. The only thing is, they might cause an extra dra...

I am a game developer and from experience I know, if you want to make something smooth and solid, it is all about prioritizing. If you make IV think Z-levels is so important then they might try to implement it and I think that'd be a bad decision. I am a long-standing member of this community and I...
