That's very strange. Are you using any programs that play with keyboard settings? Or a DVORAK keyboard? Anything else that might be unusual about your setup?

Iris: That's an awesome poster. Good work. Chris: About the videos, it would be a good idea to export them with hinting enabled, that way you can start viewing it as soon as the first bit is downloaded, instead of waiting for the whole thing. Another problem is that you're not using a default codec ...

This is usually related to low framerates. What sort of framerate do you get? (press F5 for a display)

Wow. Apart from how cool that looks, I suspect something's wonky with your graphic card setup or you direct x config. Do other 3D accelerated games play fine?

If Darwinia works anything like Uplink does, it deredshirts and expands the datafiles to a temporary location beforehand. Keep in mind that if you do manage to hack in that sort of thing, you won't be able to release it to the public. Besides, it's simpler just to de-redshirt the data and leave it i...

They don't sell black t-shirts though, and it would have to be black.

Make sure all your drivers and software is up to date. If you could post the contents of the Windows error message, and a blackbox file if generated, that would be helpful.

Does it print out a blackbox.txt file by any chance? Or display a Windows error message?

I assume you've installed all the available software updates for your machine? Make sure all your motherboard/soundcard and other drivers are up to date, as well as ensuring you have the latest version of DirectX.

If that doesn't fix it, you'll have to wait until IV can take a look at it.

There's a lot of infrastructure that needs to be set up so that a downloadable version will work. Just give it some time, since it's been confirmed that it will be soon.

I may have phrased that badly. I don't mean the idea is bad, but that the implementation is crap.

I've had more bad experiences with steam then good ones. Many times updates refuse to download for me, or the game won't launch, or a variety of other problems. (All on legal copies of course.)

Did you actually get a response from an ASW employee, or just from a forum member, as your topic on the ASW forums indicates? Also, hating them because they failed to meet a release date that was NEVER confirmed, is... stupid. You're all acting quite childish about this situation, and it's getting r...
