I just gave it a go, and it seems to work great. (Played a couple different levels, no issues except the one mentioned below) The only thing I noticed is that at low framerates, the circles visible in non-gesture mode can start oscillating towards the player. This tends to start when bringing up the...

I've played through all the way up to Mine so far, and I don't see any real issues except for the rocket not being present, but showing up in the list, and a handful of other small things that I doubt are mac specific. I'll post them all tomorrow once I've gone through all the rest of the levels (as...

Can anyone else reproduce this? I've had this same issue off and on throughout all the beta tests, and it seems to happen constantly on the new patch. No beam shows at all. I no longer have the PC I was testing on, but I'll try and talk to the person who has it now and find out what the specs/drive...

I belive that is needed to stay the way it is to allow the game to leave the level and return to it without it restarting. I'd think it would be fairly easy to stick in some code that deletes the profiles on startup of the app. That would still allow it to work during the game, and would still rese...

1) The beams on control towers are nearly invisible unless you get up close to them. I liked the way they used to appear from anywhere on the map. 2) Nothing was said after getting the Darwinian research item. This will confuse people. 3) When the world map portion of the cinematic is finished, it j...

My suggestions on the new interface: 1. I think it would work much better if the task-manager closed automatically after you click to spawn a new unit. As it is, it requires two clicks to place, and it seems disruptive to me ever time. 2. I've seen it mentioned elsewhere, and I don't think clicking ...

Re: Screen flashes

And the first one: When I do a gesture, the screen flashes. I assume this is due to the code in the new icon system that makes the Task Manager close after an icon is clicked. I've had this problem as well, and it's annoying. Also, that doesn't seem to be the cause, since the icon style Task Manage...

Or possibly tapping the unit hotkey a second time while already selected. I've seen that in games before, and it works.

The only reason I got the Mac one early is because it went through an internal beta stage at ASW. I (unfortunately for me :P) have no special (and/or secret) information about the new beta.

Actually, it appears they don't check at all. There's nothing to prevent multiple votes. So we can be sure everyone on the (much more massive) half life 2 forums will be having a field day.

xander- I am familiar with the terminal. However, I can't even get the crashed Darwinia out of full screen (remember when fullscreen games locked up in OS9? It's like that.) The ONLY way I've been able to get out of it is a hard restart or shutdown. Like I said, Force Quit only stops the sound from...

What sort of framerates are we talking here?

I get usually between 6-10fps on my dual 867 G4. That's with settings all the way up. If people with iMac G5's are getting worse then that, then there may be something to do with how the hardware and darwinia are interacting.

Later on, we will test the new control system on the Mac version. It's very much Ambrosia's style to have the demo of the game continue on into the full game on registration, so our initial thoughts are that the mac demo will continue to be the first two levels. Could the new level still crop up so...
