I wonder if the patch will fix the memory leak.... That has to be the only REALLY annying bug I know of. Why? Because it means Windows attempts to change my Page File, causing all the programs running at the time to loose their ability to use the Ram for a short while, causing most of them to crash....
Just a question, why DOES the Uplink map screen take up so much resources? I don't expect this game to be as bad though, since developing a 3D game shows you that you have to do things optimised to get it to run well, and news of a new graphics engine is good, as it means they hacn't recycled uplink...

Whats wrong with Steam? Seriously, I hate it when all people do is complain about software which is not only useful, but exposes companies like introversion to huge crowds, to get thier games known. And Starforce is much, MUCH worse than Steam. Steam doesn't ruin your computer. Yes, it uses memory, ...

Well, is there any uniqueness about each of the copies? Order number? Anything? If there was, that could be used in some way to regester it with steam. Otherwise, I don't really see a way.
