Currently, you would only be able to separate yards between security levels (Min Sec only, Med Sec only, etc). As many people seem to like the micromanagement aspect that is possible with laundry and food, this may change in the future.

I believe food is only delivered to them if they are in lockdown/solitary (or you have placed them permanently on lockdown). I would recommend building PC prisoners their own wing with their own canteen.

Yeah, I never realized this was the case (or was it not always like this?), and it seems like a lot of new players are struggling with it. One of my friends who just bought the game was trying to figure out how to get his prisoners to do stuff for several hours. I really don't think it should work l...

If prisoners want to sit, they'll pretty much do it anywhere they can get to a chair. I'll often find a prisoner relaxing at the desk of my reception room, perhaps pretending that he's running the place.

I generally prefer to give them their own space. They love to tussle with each other, too, so it's best to keep them on their own (in my opinion).

If you register your game online here, you can download the latest Alpha build without using Steam, yes. I don't believe there should be any issue with having it installed on two machines.
