Re: Rotation Principle Prison - using all the newest PA feat

they clog waiting for door to be opened Yeah noticed that already when experimenting around last night. Caused a massive disaster in one of my prisons... xD Too bad though... hope that this gets fixed soon... maybe with U26 or U27... because it would be quite a shame if that bug/thing remains half ...

Re: [Bug] Controlling Remote Doors with Door Timers breaks A

Game breaking would be if you clicked on the door, and the game crashes - something that actually prevents you from playing it. Just as an opposing view. I currently use door timers, on doors, and have no problem with it. I use it to default my cell doors to open during certain times of the day so ...

Re: [Bug] Controlling Remote Doors with Door Timers breaks A

i'd classify it as minor as well because its not "game breaking"...most players don't even use the remote timers cause the just don't work well...maybe if the timer was 30min or even 15min intervals it might be alot more usefull I guess that depends on the point of view... having 50 priso...

Re: Performance & Optimization Issues

Actually, the number of entities is not really the cause for slowdown. The size of the map is. Each square on the map represents one node in a graph that has to be searched for a path any time that any entity wants to go anywhere. The amount of computation time required to search a graph for a path...

[Bug] Controlling Remote Doors with Door Timers breaks AI

I've noticed quite a serious issue with Door Timers in combination with Remote Doors. Imagine following scenario: You've got a yard which is shared between all three security levels. But you want only to have one security level at a time in the yard. There are various possible ways to achieve this: ...

Re: Rotation Principle Prison - using all the newest PA feat

Awesome prison! :D I'm actually designing something similar to this currently... but with some little layout differences & regime differences obviously.^^ One question though: I haven't experimented around with the door control timers... but would it be possible to close them for various times o...

Re: Performance & Optimization Issues

I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's a matter of simple math. The more features that get added the more calculations per second your PC has to do... and this grows exponentially with each prisoner. A simple prison with 200 prisoners can have 170,000 lines of code int he savefile alone....

Re: Performance & Optimization Issues

I currently got a prison with 261 inmates and 427 staff people. I get ~20-22fps during the night and ~17-19 fps if everyone is running around. (fully zoomed out map, largest default map, no land expansion) The fast forward button >>> still has an affect but not the same as with a much smaller priso...

Performance & Optimization Issues

I know it has been said countless times, but I will say it again because this is becoming a notorious and serious issue throughout the course of the past months and it is becoming worse with every new update, especially Updates 20 to 25: The performance/optimization of the game is quite abysmal to b...

Re: Prison Architect Alpha 23

Haven't tried looked yet but I wonder if it is possible to set up an airlock? If inner door is open then close outer door. If inner door is closed open outer door... Only by abusing time delaying circuitry, which will be a mess. :P They should consider implementing a "feedback"-output on ...

Re: Foreman teaching in multiple rooms?

It's still possible to have multiple Foremens... and they work well with multiple workshops! You also have to do that if you want to keep your security levels segregated, because if you only have one Foreman it's not sure on which workshop (and therefore security area) he will chose to teach in, pro...

Re: [Suggestion] Speed up the save process

I'd also welcome if the way the games saves would be changed to be much faster or at least not as annoying as it is currently. The bigger your map is or the more you build or the more prisoners you have the longer it takes to save... Sometimes it takes up to 20-30 seconds to save... on expanded larg...

Re: [Suggestion] Change default save location

@ Xander: Ever since Windows Vista/7.... Windows has various locations to save Program Data... First of all there's the default application folder(s): C:\Program Files\ ... (for x64 and 32-bit only) C:\Program Files (x86)\ ... (for 32-bit under x64) They are changeable during installation (at least ...

Re: If YOU Were a Prisoner How Would You Escape?

The main reason why the prisoners have a hard time to escape other than through digging tunnels is because of the Staff-Only-Zones . They somewhat take the challenge out of the game. The point is that the prisoners (depending on their danger-factor) shouldn't give a damn about Staff-Only-Zones nor a...
