Re: Sequel or SDK?

I require Spaceport Architect. Make it for me or hire me and I'll do it: just bankroll the art assets and handle distribution. :D

Re: SO MANY ESCAPES! HOW?!

No, he's on about workshop jobs too. If the Deliveries area is secure, sheet metal jobs get assigned to prisoners rather than workmen. So long as Deliveries isn't its own zone your workmen will continue to move the sheet metal and allow your prisoners to keep working on their machines.

Re: Work rooms adjacent to cell blocks

This is the one the player took.

That workshop cannot have prisoners assigned to it unless you add a door to the north opening of the hallway directly north of the workshop, so that the workshop is no longer directly adjacent to a cell block.

Re: SO MANY ESCAPES! HOW?!

You actually shouldn't block off your Deliveries area at all. Notice how nobody's moving your sheet metal to the workshops? That's because that's a prisoner's job now. Even if you let them go to Deliveries, that's still a waste of their time. Don't let any kitchen workers have a clear path to the un...

Re: SO MANY ESCAPES! HOW?!

Well, I didn't witness any escape attempts, but I saw plenty of unruly prisoners. It can't be your kitchen workers trying to break out, because they're obeying the Staff Only zone there. I don't know what to tell you. Your prison is all kinds of inefficient, but I don't know why they tried to break ...

Upload it to the workshop. I want to play with it.

Re: SO MANY ESCAPES! HOW?!

Vexing. Have they continued trying to escape, or was it just the one massive attempt? Were doors broken during the escape?

Work rooms adjacent to cell blocks

I've recently discovered that turning a hallway connecting a workshop to a cell block into its own zone (as opposed to part of the cell block) was required to assign prisoners to the workshop. Has anyone else encountered this behavior, or can they repeat in a different prison?

Re: SO MANY ESCAPES! HOW?!

Give us a zoomed-out view of your Deployment screen. Such a mass jail break attempt can only mean a hole in your fence somewhere.

Re: CellBlocks vs Cells

He's saying it's space-efficient. I suppose he's of the school of thought that things that dedicating floor space to ease of transit is a waste of space. No word yet on how he feels about highways...

Re: [Suggestion] Detailed prisoner activity log

I'd say 1.2 megabytes would be a more feasible upper limit... Considering how the saves are already one or two megabytes, it's not ballooning it that bad. I wouldn't keep any data on prisoners who were gone though. All of the suggested information would, however, be very useful for a warden and a na...

Re: [Guide] A guide to starting a new prison

Nice video, I will definetely await monday for the following of your alpha 13 tutorial :) One thing I'm curious about, is why on earth prisoners did not attempt to escape at the first free time they had, since the staff door at the upper left corner was left open? That's a jail door (or at least it...

Re: [Suggestion]Planning tool for objects

I wish there was a way to move a plan. For example, I often plan an elaborate outline of a new cellblock only to discover that I need to shift it all just two squares to the right in order to lign up correctly with the rest of the prison. Would be neat if you could just grab the entire outline and ...

Re: Pipe grid

There's still the cost incentive, which was the only reason we had to use small pipes before Alpha 13. I just don't think prisoners tunneling through large pipes is a large enough concern to add in a new item to combat it. Unless you're deliberately living dangerously and not inspecting cells, even ...

Re: [Suggestion]Planning tool for objects

I love the planning tool, and I'd love to see it expanded. A general "plan object" tool would be good. I'd like a text label function, but I could live without it; my memory is bad, but it's not that bad.
