I don't think you can do this. What you CAN do is purchase a "Name-In-Game" tier of Prison Architect (or upgrade from your current purchase) which allows you to submit whatever name and prisoner biography you wish. Do a search on "name in game" to find out more about this. I real...

This isn't the developer forum. Why do you want to make baby Jesus cry? Fictional beings don't have feelings... Just like fish ;) (10 points to anyone who gets that song reference without using google) "It's ok to eat fish 'cos they don't have any feelings" Nirvana. 10 points please.

If you want the prisoners to jog around your yard, you can tile a path 2 squares wide with concrete tiles. If your yard is big, they will run around it for exercise. I haven't built a small yard, so I don't know if you put a jogging track around a small yard whether they will use it for that purpose.

If you say you do have solitary cells, and the message tells you that you have "1 awaiting solitary confinement" and your solitary cells are not full, the problem could be that a prisoner is in the infirmary being treated for the injuries received by over-zealous guards (or self defence of...

Also they should be more than 100 years old and be able to prove all four grandparents are alive.

If a prisoner is caught with contraband and subsequently searched by a guard (or the other way around too), the guard cuffs him, drops the contraband, and takes him to solitary. The next prisoner to walk past picks up the contraband and goes on their merry way off to shank Bob or Fred. If you have b...

Dezmodium, Thanks for the description. Whilst that sort of system could even be utilised by barred doors, it is often referred to here as an "airlock", in that one door must be shut before the other will open...not exactly an airlock, but the same principle. They use a similar system for h...

The monitors also need to be connected directly with a cable (not with the small power lines that feed lights). And lastly, if you play with Fog of War disabled, you won't get the cameras to work at all, since they are supposed to remove the Fog of War. No Fog of War->No working cameras. That sound...

I'm unsure if riot police vehicles have "designated drivers" or not. If there was a specific driver (as I guess the delivery / garbage trucks have) they would drive away even if the riot police are stuck in a wall or even worse. During a big riot, you can see that sometimes your riot polic...

Dezmodium, Could you please explain for us what exactly a "sallyport" is? I don't want to sound negative, as I personally love the CO's that come here and help to improve this game. You gave wonderful insights into what prison life is about, but many of the things you talked about are more...

Proximity of your Kitchen to the delivery area, with a clear paved pathway makes for quick delivery of foodstuffs and ingredients, and hence quicker meals. Also, the size of your delivery area is also important. If it is small, and there is building works going on, or just too small for all the requ...

It would be hard for a band to perform in a jail ('cept maybe the Blues Brothers) because when they take their first break, there would be a mad scramble for the guitar strings. They make excellent garottes I'm told.

Navarro, Another great and insightful, intelligent post. Keep them coming, I hope that they are being read by the devs or someone at IV. I think the idea of customisable offences and punishments for those offences is a great idea. For instance, if you have a small number of prisoners, regulating the...

I think the Controller idea is a good one. I do a similar job for security work (not in prisons) where we have the ability to do just what Navarro suggests...we can observe an authorised person waiting for a door to be opened remotely. If, for instance, there was a riot on the other side, we could n...

And the Corrections van drives in, and the roller shutter closes, then they open the van, bring the prisoner or prisoners into the induction centre (or processing), then the roller shutter opens and the van drives away. I never did like the incoming inmates being dropped off into an unsecured "...
