This is very interesting, since I had almomst the opposite problem when Uplink used glut. The buttons, etc. were moved and cut off on their lower edges, rather than upper ones. I do not know the cause of the problem, though. It seems that many people are not experiencing this problem. It would be go...

Conflicting missions in Uplink
It is possible that, during play, Uplink will generate conflicting missions. Something like: "Destroy server X" and "Copy from server X" Depending on the order you attempt these, you may leave one uncompletable. Some think this is realistic, some think it's just plain annoying, s...

My two cents
This would be a good idea. Better yet, the whole mission system could be scripted, with randomly generated missions generated by scripted mission templates, and plot missions generated by an event scheduler. The slight issue I have with DLLs is one of security. If Uplink contained a script interpret...

glut32.dll
At version 1.31a, Uplink was ported from using glut to using SDL. This was done for a number of reasons. Anyway... dev mods will still use glut, since they are created from 1.31 source code, not the SDL source, so you will need glut32.dll in the directory. If you installed 1.31x as a patch to 1.31, ...

glut32.dll
Versions 1.31a onwards do not use glut32.dll. glu32.dll is a different library and has always and continues to be used by Uplink. I do not know about the FBI mod and what it changes. I will look into it, but cannot promise that Uplink can be fixed to handle it. It is possible that the FBI mod could ...

Lagging
Just to be clear, does this problem occur only in 1.31c, or in 1.31 also?

Crashes
Both these problems should be resolved in 1.31c, which will be available shortly (probably by the time you read this.)

Graphics distortion
The problem has two probable causes. The textures loaded onto the graphics hardware were damaged whilst the game lost focus (I assume Norton did that). The background is also possibly not considered "dirty" by Uplink, and so is not regenerated. There is currently no solution, except not to...

Some suggestions
Hi Saltheart, This is an interesting problem. I've checked with dependency walker on a Win2k machine, and efsadu.dll does not seem to be a dependency of any of the installer materials or uplink.exe. I do have the dll in my windows\system32 directory, though, and it appears to be a Mircosoft library ...
