Not exactly on topic but, this could potentially be expanded with sort of an upgrade system, so cheap security would be an old crusty key system. Next step up is key access cards, and then fingerprint and iris scanners + more?. So first the prisoners just have to steal a key. Next step up they migh...

I think a nice happy medium would be the format expected for the save file with alpha releases... this would allow us to build a save game editor and maintain it, which would offer much of the functionality of debug tools (just not in real time), while allowing you guys to focus on implementing feat...

I'm not sure I entirely understand, but shouldn't this issue be a non factor with alpha 5 and the updated foundation tool now?

Yeh it would be nice if it went a little bigger but we don't want it huge? there would be nothing left to build if we could copy everything ;) 4 cells worth would be great. 10x10 or something. I don't see anything inherently bad about having an arbitrarily large clone tool. Is there something neces...

Umm, the Operating system is Vista, and I think the graphics card is an ATI Radeon X1250 :? If that's a desktop card, then you have an AMD 690 series chipset and should have a free PCI-Express slot to upgrade with. The only concern is...if that's right...then I think that motherboard came with the ...

Or tweed. As for building times though, we all know if builders stopped taking all those tea breaks, lunch breaks, break breaks etc, construction would only take a few hours ;) lolz +1 for that but wouldnt that count as slavery? 0_o Don't think of it so much as slavery, but as running a tight ship....

I'd venture to say that Prison Architect is a game before a simulation, so if something becomes tedious rather than fun, it's not worth including :P Just, personally, extra wiring things falls into that category for me. I'm far more interested in the simulation of the characters than worrying about ...

They had a talk at minecon so they've obviously been busy so it will probably be slower to release this time. However they demo'd riots, riot police, fire trucks, paramedics and escape tunnels. So there has been lot of progress since alpha 4. That was also demo'd at Eurogamer . It seems to me that ...

laying down pipes + power cables is probably enough... i don't want to have to connect every single piece of tech individually just to have it work

I've just looked over the 12 threads run by my Prison Architect: 0 = Main Thread 1 - 3 = Sound related 4 = SDL (Sound/Graphics intermediate Layer) 5 = Curl?? (Download the message of the day?) 6 - 11 = In my graphics driver So it seams the game is not threaded in itself, the libraries are, the logi...

Prison Architect is already multithreaded: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/1210765/threads.png Making things like physics, AI, pathing, etc... run on a seperate thread is pretty easy in general because they are not strictly time sensitive (real-time) operations...and that's probably what is being done righ...
