Re: Problems with Programs

Best choice is to use the armed guard in areas that if the prisoners stray into you would want them punished (suppressed). I only use one in the main gates passageway in my prison because if a prisoner is there they are going to turn around quickly or be shot. I used to have another in the solitary ...

Re: Alpha 13 - what should we focus on next?

I picked new features as I usually do but I was somewhat leaning toward polishing existing features. I find contraband interesting but there are too many hard limits on the system that prevent the game from having interesting and dynamic narratives. The main one of these being that prisoners only hi...

Check that BangUp isn't on. It's overlapped by the close button in Bureaucracy and can accidentally toggled when you close the Bureaucracy screen.

I was getting the same until I sped through and started building. Never was clear why it was crashing other the that I was using the planning tool and was paused. You should check Mantis and add a ticket.

I picked Riot and Escapes. The mid-game could use a few more things to do that actively engage the player. Plus it always feels like that behaviour is being "stopped" by the AI manager and there is no consequence or followthrough on bad design/management. It also seems like it would let th...

Anyone interested in prison economies should give this a read: [PDF]The Economic Organisation of a P.O.W. Camp It's probably one of the most interesting essays I've ever read. It does a good job of demonstrating how little inefficiencies with distribution, like giving cigarettes to non-smokers cause...

I think the issue with continuos intake is that nothing manages the number of prisoners coming in. I agree completely that the current continuos intake and the non-continous intake are to far on each end of the spectrum. The ideal intake would be something more like: Day 1: 8 Prisoners Day 2-8: 2-3 ...

Probably T, because of the blood and the semi-nudity of the cutscenes. Who actually cares would be a better question. As a self published, self distributed game there's no reason to waste money getting a true PEGI or ESRB rating as it's only to get distributed by companies that are unwilling to sell...

I coulda sworn that was going to be fixed in Alpha 5 but it's a bug that been around for a bit. http://bugs.introversion.co.uk/view.php?id=529 Unfortunately I don't see a way to reopen the ticket. Another fund related bug that can hurt you badly is that the new foundation cancelling does not refund ...

It's one of the older known issues. It won't have any effect on the game play at all so try to ignore it for the time being.

Thanks. I don't see a clear issue for you though... perhaps the guys that are on lockdown have a job queued for the toilet but can't go there yet and the others can't path to it. Try clicking on the cuffed/not moving prisoners and right clicking somewhere else in the holding cell. A guard should mov...

The idea of running some of the water through a boiler is cool (hehe) but it also seems like a mandatory cost rather then something you would have fun designing. From what I've read the only other "utility" we might see is whatever the door system will use to connect jail doors to switches...

Hmm, a picture of your prison and/or regime would help. If you zoned the toilet in with the holding cell they should be using it during Freetime or None, same with a shower. Have you completed the "Basic Detention Centre" grant? If you completed it your prison should work fine unless there...

Sounds like electrical switches were needed. Cut off power to the kitchen when a fire break out, so your firemen don't get zapped. There wasn't a fire... yet... I just wanted to see what hosing down the kitchen would do but forgot to not stand in the water. :P Every wing of my prison has switches a...
