Yeah, from experiments with play, I think this is more of an issue with the "'task assignment thread iterating through the available tasks" ... I can get a medium prison up to about 250 inmates and 60 staff before it becomes unplayable. At that point, at least on my hardware and in windowe...

Cook/Kitchen AI needs some work

1. Cooks will regularly underutilize their time. They'll be standing around while there's something that needs to be done. 2. Cooks don't reliably place things into fridges, even when there's fridge space available. 3. Cooks don't reliably use food in fridges, and instead seem to prefer the freshest...

OK, I've got a stupid question. All of my large jail doors are open all the time. When I click on it, the door says DoorOpen SELECTED, and it's always open.

I can switch it to "DoorNoEntry" but then no one can pass.

What's the special sauce to actually get them to close?

Ok, the REAL way they use holding cells in prisons is for inmates whose paperwork is being processed, or who are there for a very short period and are either expected to bond out quickly or are in the process of bonding out. It's also used every time a non-permanent prisoner is checked into and out ...

I'm having problems as well. On my Mac (2010 13" MBP 2.4ghz Duo 4GB), it's related to the size of my Yard. (I'd been using a 30x30 yard for the first phase of my prison.), but then deteriorates again as I pass 40 prisoners and/or 30 staff. On my Win7 machine running a 3ghz AMD Phenom 4 (I think...

Large TVs broken?

I don't know if this is a bug or if I'm not using them right, but large TVs don't seem to attract prisoners to use them, whereas small TVs seem to be used all the time. Is it an area effect that I'm missing, or do they not work?

Linux has been app signing for years, although as usual it's free-as-in-beer. It's the only way to be sure that you're downloading what the developer says they posted and not something else. The "entry fee" for an apple developer account is so low that the additional security will be hugel...

I voted for fire and would appreciate if a few more of the security-aiding features -- so patrols and firefighters -- (and some pathfinding bugfixes!) made it in before you start adding more complications for the security forces.

I've lost four prisons to fire now. :(

Huge thumbs up for this, Nicotin. I couldn't get a game going past 40 prisoners or so, the extra grants have gotten me where I'm able to continue building out with 80 prisoners and climbing on a small map.

Note for disappointed mac users: It works fine in WINE (with the exception of a crash every three hours -- which might be a feature ... ) and you can use Wineskin for easy setup.

I posted a bug last night, but it was either deleted or moved to a forum I can't access because I can't even start the game to register the code. *sigh*

I'd appreciate an email back from an admin/support on this issue ... not sure how to go about getting that, though.

libcurl error on mac?

I'm on OS X 10.6.8 and was hoping I could play, now that I've pledged, but apparently I can't. The pertinent part seems to be: Dyld Error Message: Library not loaded: /usr/lib/libcurl.4.dylib Referenced from: /Users/username/Downloads/Prison Architect.app/Contents/MacOS/Prison Architect Reason: Inco...
