Go be social. Starcraft will still be there when you get back. It's not like you are going to miss out on anything by waiting a day or two (of course, I say that as someone who tends to buy games a good 5 years after they come out when (1) they are much cheaper and (2) I have a computer capable of ...

Watching this reminds me of http://www.gapminder.org/ He could just have easily loaded the data into Google Docs and used the gapminder apps/plugin to do everything. Except that the project was clearly an art project, not a simple map of where all of the nukes were set off. The map he created is pa...

I concur that steam games tend to be cheaper, they have some good sales always, not too much, but well, always something on sale, those are cheaper, but other then that they're pretty high, especially for a game without a disk, in EU you can get disk games for 35 euro I think, new games, modern tit...

All the better, I didn't lose much. When alan wake was first announced it was state of the ...

Re: The People Problem

IV needs to create models used to represent people in Subversion. Any other graphic element of Subversion can be discussed here as well >_> Also what about convincing AI? Such as the likes of "Façade (interactive story)" ? Having scale invariant procedural cities is great, but the charact...

Procedurally generated cities..

Speaking of procedurally generated cities (like the one in Subversion) I came across an open source opengl screensaver that demos procedurally generated cities here: http://www.shamusyoung.com/twentysidedtale/?p=2940 It doesn't compare to Subversion in the sense of if I understand it correctly, subv...

Yea, I've seen this guy as well, he's not good, he also plays sometimes as RDFlamingo or something. I see him in AKE servers , but those are the only servers I play in pretty much, so that doesn't say he plays in others as well. So I've been meaning to ask Jordy, what's your username on the servers...

Just taking a look at your specs its your computer that is slow as a turtle. What if you had went out and bought Crysis? Without first downloading the demo? Would you expect that to work as well? Perhaps at 5 seconds per frame? (or not work at all..) I agree that Defcon is not optimized graphically ...

A link to the same tutorial... twice. You should note that the tutorial is clearly a total hack job, intended as more of a proof-of-concept than a functional activity. Defcon seems to be somewhat sensitive to the way in which things are packaged---changing the compression settings may have an effec...

Re: MicroDEFCON 1.37MB Mod

Hey, your download link is dead, and when I tried the tutorial to make my own "floppy defcon" it doesn't work anymore.. I think the instructions were for version 1.42 and perhaps in 1.43 it was disallowed? I followed the tutorial instructions step by step but when I extract and repack the...

Barbarossa I just played a diplo game with you an hour ago. Yes NORAD, I remember. That was quite a long and boring/tedious game. I'm glad AFLURRY finally got the coveted Steam badge he was going after. Sorry I didn't stay til the end to watch. I heard you leveled red USSR pretty good to zero. What...
