Sooooo, after quite some time i'm back with a bit of an update. Since i started a new job end of last year, the time i have available to work on TheGame has decreased to a point where i can not make progress far enough to bring the project forward as much as i'd like. But since i've invested over 1 ...

Zothen wrote:I wont stop you producing vapourware. As I said - good luck and happy coding!

I think you're mixing up things that are called vapourware and things that fail... but whatever. Waste of time...

You can deliberately pose as someone else, steal their identities, blackmail them and virtually do all the bad things other online games desperately try to avoid in their gaming experiences. At some point during ma...

Oh yeah, one more thing <stevejobsmode/> ;)

The whole game will be anonymous. No chatlogs, no personal data during registration etc. I found that kinda important.

I'm guessing you can send PM messages with the messaging system, can you fake those too? (well... it's a hacking game.. of course you can!) But when you say: You can deliberately pose as someone else, steal their identities... it doesn't seem like we need to do any hacking to do it. Well, we have 3...

@ChemicalRascal I fully agree. I intentionally did not build mini games into mine yet, for that very reason. I'm currently working on the Story system, which is what i think should keep the user busy. However, at a later point i will implement a design (that is already finished) for crea... no, not ...

So, finally finished moving to new house, starting new job, and building new computer system. Yay. Development shall commence once more.

Now working on the last - yet most complex - part of the game. If i can make it like i think it should be, then i believe this will be quite entertaining ;)

Well, that iHacker has more of a website than i do, true. If they have more of a game than i do, no idea. Judging by that video they have there, it appears to be a bit more eye-candy focused, plus they got their sound FX in (either that or did a nice video mash-up of what the game is supposed to be ...

Little update: I wanted to do the closed beta start a bit earlier, but i decided to start the closed beta phase after i've relocated in end of august. Makes it a bit less stressful + i can set up the server box before that. Until then i'll have all must-have-features in, plus a few optional ones.
