As discussed elsewhere, don't count on that ever happening.

Exactly. We're still waiting for a PC version that actually works on Steam. O wait. I see what you did there. Lolz.

To be honest, although I actually haven't tried authenticating Defcon on one connection and then attempting to run it on another, I can't reeeeealy see how it could be an issue. That said, I'm just an end-user, so I'm not privy to any source code or anything, but my understanding is that the Steam ...

Just a comment in regards to paid customers beta testing; I've seen Demo players out and about, I'm sure that's related. hahahaha... I think the problem is the multiple authentications, that is, if I don't wipe the key from my pc at work, it won't authenticate at home or at a friends althoug...

Through steam yeah - I never had one single problem with any IV product until STeam. Most people on Steam don't know IV or it's success on steam - and what theyre quickly learning is that youre not getting what you pay for. I WANT IV to succeed at this, if they don't, the IV store will continue to ...

Guess more people finds defcon via steam than the internet browser, so it's only natural they buy it there to. And i as a customer expect the product i buy to work without any problems, so think it's only right for him to vote with his wallet. You are absolutely right! I just had a different point ...

I just wanna link to this: http://forums.introversion.co.uk/defcon/viewtopic.php?t=7256&start=17 So people can see, IV is actually trying to solve the problem. IV is getting paid customers to Beta Test. As of this morning none of these work for us and that includes a complete uninstall/reinstal...

Well, I don't get it. If the steam version of Defcon causes so much problems, then just buy the retail version from the IV-shop. My retail auth-key is more than 3 years old and I never had any problems. Yes. Thanks. I have 2 of those. We have 4 Steam copies too. If you want to sell a game through s...

Re: What's better than an invalid key on steam?

Delete your authkey file, run the game again from in Steam. DEFCON will generate a new authkey. If it jiggers up, delete the authkey, and start DEFCON again, repeat until this works. When it does work, quit DEFCON, and make a back-up of your authkey file. Yes, this was done prior to the fix, and af...

What's better than an invalid key on steam?

Simple. A revoked key. Followed by an invalid one. Followed by the realization that it sure would be good to be able to actually have this game work. Despite having it kick in for a couple of days, we're right back where we started. Demo crap. While this might be a great game, I'm not supporting Int...

Thank you Chris!

We'll let you know how we make out (we have a number of players in differing locations)

Again, thanks for keeping up with the communications aspect - it's *always* appreciated.

Cheers

Don't double-post please. If you need to quote two different posts, you can first post the first, then quote the other but instead of posting, copy it and paste into the first using the edit button. ;) *Steam has a horrible track record with customer satisfaction and failing to deliver goods as adv...

I'm guessing that by the time you get the patch beta testing wont be needed since it's part of what needs beta testing. ;)

Hahaha.....now *THAT'S* 9000.

I'm not even sure how steam operates can be legal, but thats another story for another day. Out of curiosity, what would be illegal about Steam? Well thats an interesting point really. Yes, I understand the TOS for about 90% of the games I play and agree to. I will cancel an order if I do not agree...

SNFU, I totally understand your frustration, that problem we have with Steam really annoys us too. It's one of the bugs we've fixed in this update. Once the update is tested and released the problem will never happen again. We'd love to have your help with testing the fix! Thank you for taking the ...
