I have vista firewall tunred off and my software firewall is open to all traffic.

If i disable my network adapter wont this mean i cant connect to the internet?

EDIT: Turning off my software firewall cured the issue... silly me, thank you for your help guys and sorry for wasting your time

Yep Vista Ultimate x64.

I reisntalled the steam version and till have the same problem.
