That assumes I know - Chris never told me what it was about, not that I would say anything even if he did, NDA's are for life not just for XMas.

Well, yesterday (July 9th) was officially my last day at Introversion. I have 3 days of freedom before taking up my position as 3D programmer at Sega Sports Interactive. I am continuing to blog but at http://www.xiotexstudios.com.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Moving on

Some of you already know this but with great sadness I am moving on - leaving Introversion. The good news is that I am starting at Sega Sports Interactive in the middle of July :) Thank you for your messages of support, it's been great interacting with you! I want to thank Introversion for the oppor...

And he picked up the kit - was quite impressed as he managed to pack it pretty much into a ruck-sack. Quite an achievement if you saw how much and how bit it is.

Come and get it.

I just remembered, one of the fans didn't always spin and the shipment didn't come with a USB cable so you will need one of those.

I live in the armpit of the universe known as Croydon, so technically London. We get the rejects that are too evil for Hell.

I have no use for it, nor space and the wife has been nagging me for ages to get rid of it since it's taking up quite a bit of space in the spare room.

Yeah, giving it away. It's either that or the bin.

One stipulation - there is no warranty with this. Its been sitting in a spare room for a few months and I think it still works.

AMBX kit

I have sitting at home the AMBX kit I used to develop the AMBX integration with Multiwinia. I have been nagging IV for some time to come pick it up and finally got the reply from Tom that I should just bin it. Before I do that is there anybody here that wants it? If you do you will have to pay for c...

As long as you don't have too many objects in your world, a virtual update function is just fine. Where it stops being fine is if you use it for particle systems on a per-particle basis; there, you absolutely need large batches of particles you handle in one loop where the same code is applied to h...

I wish my uni taught proper programming :( On a side note, some graphics operations cause epic pipeline stalls in XNA, does the same apply to DirectX/OpenGL? Things like getting texture data from GPU memory back to CPU memory (ie, data going to "wrong" way, since the graphics pipeline is ...

Is that bad in the scheme of things? It seems alot easier to do that than really ever have to worry about addressing into memory you don't mean to be - I even use quite a few vector types instead of linked lists because it's just less work, and there's less things to go wrong. No, that's not bad. C...

I was reading the article that VeryLittleGravitas linked, and to be honest I'm actually quite surprised. I did electronic engineering at university, and I was longing for more courses about pointers so I could have something both easy AND interesting to do... we did assembly and C (not even ++) and...

Here's an example of what I mean. I just ran 'Garden' in Darwinia+ for 2 hours and left it running on its own. It crashed on a malloc call and being in release mode all is not what it seems in the debugger so we have to work out from the debugger view what the values being passed around are. So, her...
