Synapse, The "Hotfile" links both say that your Modern Warfare mod has either been deleted by you or been removed for "copyright infringement". I checked Zach's DEFCON Mod List, and "Modern Warfare" isn't there. Is there another way for me to download your mod? -Dave

Okay, just for the sake of being obsessive to the nth degree... Did anyone else notice that the generic symbol for the SAC long range bomber bases were equilateral triangles on the Big Boards? http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s277/atombomb88/LoringAFB.png Just sayin'... http://i154.photobucket.com...

Okay, I'm sure this has probably been answered dozens of times, but... I'm getting runtime errors when I try to compose my own sounds for DEFCON. I know the format is .ogg, but is there something I'm failing to do when I'm converting the sound file? I mean, I was able to successfully produce a new e...

Everyone is, I'm sure, aware that in the movie WarGames, the style of the digital world map on the "Big Board" is cylindrical projection or "Mercator". http://i154.photobucket.com/albums/s277/atombomb88/vlcsnap-7259428.png I have been trying, unsuccessfully so far, to modify the ...

Question: If this is "modern" combat, why are there a couple of older units? Unit Changes: Nuke: Polaris Silo: Erect Atlas silo The Polaris was an SLBM that was retired in 1972 and replaced by Poseidon, which was replaced by Trident I in 1979 and the current Trident II in 1990. The Atlas w...

Thanks for the help on the labels. I was able to modify the english.dat file to my liking. Another idea I have been toying with is changing the radiation so that it displays a more realistic fallout pattern. Obviously I couldn't have a fallout pattern for every single city in the game based on the p...

Another question...now that I think about it, some of the names are wrong for the specific types of nuclear weapons launched. For example, the "MRBMs" (Medium-Range Ballistic Missiles) launched from subs should actually be labeled SLBMs (Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missiles), and the so-c...

Granted, you are essentailly correct in the assessment that I am ignorant as far as the technical aspects of computer programming are concerned. Whether or not you intended the statement to be pejorative, the term "ignorant" connotes a more generalized description such as stupidity, which ...

I never said I was ignorant, and I can usually figure things out if I'm persistent. Anyway, when I open the file "Earth" in the "Mods" subfolder there are black and white bitmap images of the territories "North America", "South America", "Europe", &q...

Because I really don't know how to. I mean, I can work my way around the computer, but I'm not very sophisticated with them. Besides, I don't know if I could actually put forth the level of focus to complete it even if I started.

I like this mod. It makes sense to have Greenland part of the North America territory. I mean, Thule Air Force Base as well as the Ballistic Missile Early Warning System PAVE PAWS are stationed there. But would you consider adding Austrailia, New Zeland, and Indonesia as another territory?

Has anyone thought of altering the territories in either the WarGames mod or the WOPR mod? I mean, the movie was made in 1983, so the map of Europe would have been divided--everything to the west of Norway, West Germany, Greece, and Turkey was part of NATO. Russia, East Germany, Poland, Czechoslovak...

Well, I got the game to accept the file, but now when it plays it is excruciatingly slow...the voices are deep and garbled, and it's hard to tell what they're saying. I know that Chris posted a way to fix this problem, but I'm not a computer expert, and I'm afraid that if I alter the programming, it...

I still have a few questions regarding the DEFCON WarGames and/or WOPR MODs: 1) There is radiation symbol and a circle that encompasses a silo or submarine when it launches; is there any way to remove the radiation symbol, but keep the circle? In the WarGames movie, there was only a circle that woul...
