Re: This actually LOOKS like an Introversion game
The end music reminds me of some of the music from Darwinia, too.

Is it possible to see the real textures of the environment?
I completed the game twice today, once with the "New Game" option and once with the "New Game+" option which appeared after the first run through. What a spooky, atmospheric game! Well worth the price of admission. I'm wondering if there's a spoiler/dev mode, which enables the re...

The 1.55 patch for Linux can be found by doing a phrase search on Google for the filename: uplink-patch-1.55.tar.gz.
Unzip/untar the downloaded file, overwriting any existing files on the way.

Solved it. The problem was caused by the check for glibc in the installer script setup.sh . These libraries are on my system, but not where the script expects. Hurrah for standards, eh? The subroutine DetectLIBC calls DetectLibc6 . DetectLibc6 looks for /lib/libc.so.6 . If this is found, then Detect...

Using ./uplink-complete-1.54DOWNLOAD.sh --keep --confirm --target uplink-tmp I've managed to extract the contents of the installer to a temporary directory. The installed wanted to run ./setup.sh , which seemed odd. After all, if I've extracted the contents to a subdirectory, then why would the inst...

[SOLVED] Uplink 1.54 on Linux Mint 11 - install failed
I don't know where my Uplink CD is (probably buried in a cupboard somewhere) so I took the lazy route and ponied up another ten quid to download the latest Linux and Windows versions of Uplink directly from Introversion. Why not? It's a decent game and I don't mind buying it twice. On my Linux Mint ...

Darwinia patch 1.5.11 on Windows 7 - DirectX 9c
I searched the forum but couldn't find any posts about it, so I figured I'd offer this information to anyone else who encounters this issue. Windows 7 has DirectX 11, but the installer for Darwinia patch 1.5.11 complains about DirectX 9c. I have successfully used both 7Zip - http://ww.7zip.org/ - an...

LAN hack - disable "Guarded by" locks for main ser
http://www.what-ho.co.uk/UplinkThumb.jpg This LAN doesn't appear to have any wireless or modem connections, nor does it appear to have any Trusted Subnets. I've scrolled all around the LAN map, in case I missed something lurking off to one side. Nothing else is visible. I've got v3 of Probe, Force,...
