It's alive and well, I think we just need a better name than "vs. 5 allied CPUs"...
I suggest "Rogviler's Rogue State Challenge" in honor of the challenge's originator

Time to respond to rus|Mike's challenge... here's another debrief for South America: A view of the starting situation and unit deployments. Fleets are heading for safety as usual, while two packs of submarines immediately make for the Bering Strait. Silo locations in Argentina should buy me enough t...

There's also the matter of symmetry. With air units, we have the fighter, which doesn't have any separate modes to change between. Game mechanically, the battleship provides a naval equivalent. Giving the front line units* switchable modes would also lead to a great deal more micromanagement, which ...

A ghostly duo from Poland
Just had a peculiar 1v1 game against _AMIGO, a demoplayer from Poland (at least that's what I could gather from his chatter with a spectating countryman). Playing on one of the Dedicated Game of Chess servers, I draw Asia and my opponent gets South America. While I'm placing units throughout Defcons...

Well, since you've put Spain in NATO then you should probably have Greece and Turkey as well, as they both joined well before Spain did. But I could understand leaving them out for game balance reasons, so it's your call. Greenland shouldn't be a game balance problem since West Europe is allied with...

Nice! However I'll have to point out that Finland still isn't part of NATO, and certainly wasn't anywhere near joining NATO during the Cold War! Ditto for Switzerland. Czechoslovakia, on the other hand, was part of the Warsaw Pact, and should be added to that alliance. PS. The Soviets also seem to b...

Nice! Here's how I fared in my latest attempt with North America... I set up everything on land far north in Canada, hoping to empty the silos before they would be destroyed. My main fleet was sent towards Australia, while two smaller packs of subs, escorted by a single battleship each, were to try ...

Glad to see this challenge isn't quite dead yet, after all! Here are two of my latest debriefs: Asia For starters I sent my fleets south towards Australia and detachments of subs towards South America and the Bering Straits. I needed to get all those boats out of the way before the shooting started....
