Seems to me that since people are still in here posting over the last few months the game is still alive. It's a good thing. I always thought this implementation of Wargame's "Global Thermonuclear War" game was awesome. Good alcohol, chips & dip type of game late at night on weekends.

Funny, I am trying to figure out how the game is dead when there are still public games and this forum gets new posts daily....

Great, thanks... now one more question. Can you turn off the background music (and crying, whimpering, coughing effects) but still leave on the sound effects (launch detected, nuclear explosion, etc)?

I am having a hard time finding all this stuff in the small manual that came with the game.

Is there a hotkey, or menu command, that will make the game window expand to full.screen???

variable unit count is my favorite setting because it allows a little more custom taloring of your defenses. You may not have exactly the same number of ICBM's, bombers, subs, etc as your opponant.

It would be neat to have a sound file from the Wargames movie where General Beringer announces "WE ARE AT DEFCON 1!" to play when the game actually reaches defcon 1.

I agree with a previous poster than most PC adaptations of board games bite. Risk wasn't too bad of an adaptation but just lost the "feel" the board game had I guess. Stratego really sucked because I didn't care for all the individual little different markers, got confusing at times tellin...
