Heh, Red Dawn was a really good movie, although it was kinda corny at times.

For example, the whole "AVENGE MEEEEEEEE!!" part.

In any case, a great movie, and it does involve nukes.

Bump for great help justice.

I was using the steam client for this sync issue, I've recently installed the standalone defcon and tried it out instead, not sure if I get sync errors yet. I'll try later. In the meantime, any suggestions would be nice. I have synclogs if you want them.

Sweet, I'll use the defcon standalone with a steam key. It seems to work ok, so hopefully steam doesn't mind. (I bought almost all the half-life stuff on steam, they owe me! Almost. lol

Can't wait till Portal and ep2 come out. *drools*

I once got a carrier into the gulf of mexico, but it had to travel over cuba first. ;) a landship lol. It made for good backup radar coverage.

I'm agreeing with you alex, I paid for the game, I should be able to use my key on a standalone. But the key literally says STEAM in it, so I was wondering if there would be legal issues, etc... I've heard of people doing it, and that steam doesn't approve. Has anyone done this? Is introversion ok w...

Defcon Steam vs Defcon Standalone

I have a copy of Defcon via steam, and I was wondering if it is legal or ok to copy my key into a standalone version of Defcon. I've heard minor stuff every so often, and I couldn't pull up a search giving me a definitive answer. Basically I just want to play it by itself, because steam likes to hog...

I think collateral damage is done by nukes that are not placed on city or military targets, basically, empty space.

Try it sometime, I always get collateral when I click too fast and mistakenly bomb empty space on land.

When I play North America, I am forced to basically work from the top down, working Russia over until I can finally reach Asia. The weird missile curves make Asia nearly impossible to hit from the USA.

I typically try to win all my naval battles asap, and move the subs somewhere off the coast of the enemy country. There I wait, roaming the seas for subs, until the near end of the game, or when that country is being attacked. I then launch all my sub missiles, and follow with a few silos. I never l...

Sounds like you're having trouble with the controls. It's relatively simple, once you get to know them. Left click attacks, and right click switches modes. So if you want a sub to attack a enemy battleship, and that battleship is clearly visible (Showing a color allegiance, not grey.) Then click on ...

Repeated Sync Errors

I've been having a sync problem since the patch came out. The first 2-5 min of the game will go smoothly, and all of the sudden, I get out of sync. I think it might have to do with the text/chat service, because I keep getting redirected to a private message with a player in that game. I have 4.2 mb...
