- Changed : Show a warning when buying a gateway security and there is no free memory to put the software driver. I think you made an oops - no matter how much memory I have free I can't purchase security devices - it says I need at least 1Gq memory free. Thanks for putting the check in, I guess it...

FYI, other than the text in the changelog, there's no difference between the 1.51TRYB and 1.52 patches for linux, but I don't remember seeing all of the changes in the TRYB discussion. I don't know if that's because you just didn't announce the other changes or you oopsed the archive. In any case, t...

offisdes: What distribution are you running on? Do you have the uplink fonts installed external to the game? I'm running Gentoo (currently 2006.1, fully updated with a few bleeding-edge packages, though I doubt any of them influence uplink) x86 on a Thinkpad R50p. I haven't installed any fonts exte...

Looks good! BTW ,I posted an issue in the "Bug Reports" section about Hardware Drivers issues with fill memory. I don't know if you saw it, but if you didn't here's an official request that you check it out :)

Thanks for your hard work!

Thank you! Renaming libfreetype.so.6 so that my local one is used helps restore the font to what it should be. Renaming libftgl.so.0 only makes things worse. Here's a set of screenshots: 1) 1.51TRYA as distributed: http://www.honorablemenschen.com/uplink/uplink-1.51TRYA-distro.png 2) 1.51TRYA with l...

No space for Hardware Drivers

I'll prefice this by saying that I'm still running on 1.31 because of the Linux font issue, but I haven't seen that this issue has ever been addressed. I recently bought a Motion Sensor and Gateway Nuke, but at the time I had no room in my memory banks (which I bought shortly thereafter). However, b...

Well, the font is definitely much nicer to look at, but it still suffers from the problem of being just a little too big. I don't know if you can make the font size a user-configurable option, or have the text boxes scale based on the width of the line, or what. It seems like there's a lot of hard-c...

Are you statically linking against the font libraries? If so, can you release a patch that dynamically links against them? I just installed the latest FTGL ebuild and can test that version (2.1.2) for you. GLTT is deprecated (hasn't been updated since 2001) and is slated for removal from the gentoo ...

Well, it's unfortunate and frustrating... What library is it? I'm more than happy to try and test/investigate, and I'm not afraid to dig code/straces (though I don't have the DevCD, and I can't really justify spending $53 for it). I'd also love it if you could fix the problem that causes Uplink to m...

Linux Font Problems

I just upgraded to 1.50 (linux) and now I'm having font problems- the font being rendered looks terrible and is too wide for the line spacing it's given, so that I have various problems, such as: On the opening screen, I see: If you are registered as an Uplink Agent, enter your username and password...
