yeah dude.

open source it a bit.? or at least provide a scripting interface.? i only see gaming-platform ports (w/o the scripting mods) as pushing up the popularity of the game.

Xander, i defer to your wisdom surrounding this game - you've become the authority on things.

2007 or 2008 then would be good.

2007 or 2008, then, would be good. IV is right to wait to exhaust the bug fixes, feature request priortizing, and mod-able graphics capibilities first. plus, opening the code w/o ensuring some sort of tournament 'stock code' verification (CRC-32 across the package?) would ruin competition. I wonder ...

gotcha, so i just edit north america and russia . bmp - - for some reason it crashes when i mouseover hawaii or puerto rico? i think you gotta take hawaii and puerto rico outta sailable so boats don't go through em and make the areas of northamerica and hawaii white in the territory one so that you ...

trying to add hawaii to my defcon northamerica. okay, got i data / earth / dirs to work. and i blanked out the travel nodes so that doesn't crash it now. now it's crashing when i try to place a radar on my hawaii island i created. it's white in the territory file, black in the sailable file, belongs...

spent all day trying to edit maps

okay i just spent all day trying to edit the maps up with these suggestions and i can't get the new maps to work with defcon, even checking things like that travel node dot bmp - - how do you sucessfully edit a map for inclusion into the game ? what has to be change? sailable.bmp? water.bmp? travel_...

how about a save game ability?, and, to make it easy to code- it could be limited to games w/o external players.

alternatively, the developed logic would permit the creation of pre-made scenarios, as well.

is that sarcasm or are you advocating an SDI- like particle beam or directed energy weapon?

or, alternatively, how about an option to DISABLE the ability to shoot down nukes? that would make it more realistic.
