Question about using my key

Hey there,

This is less a problem and more of a query. I have a laptop that I'd like to be able to run Defcon on, but I already use my key with my desktop. Is it possible to have the game on each of my computers, so long as they're not both online at the same time?

Thanks,

I pick Africa. Why? Because I like playing as Africa.

Recording and playback of games is the most needed feature in my mind, head and shoulders above the other options.

Yes, both on the computer and on good 'ol hexmaps. Though I'm more interested in science-fiction wargaming than anything else (G.E.V. might appeal to this crowd, actually - it's about nuclear tank-based warfare after anti-ICBM weaponry is viable).

Nations other than Europe can do that too, incidentally. You just have to set up alliances to cover where your fleets aren't. Hopefully by the time the alliance is near the breaking point, you can afford to divert some strength to cover your other coast. There are tactics to gain local superiority a...

I played the demo and liked it. Then I looked at the price tag, and promptly bought it. It's not often that you can find a game this good for under $20.

I also enjoy Diplomacy much more than the other gametypes. Can't say I'm regular about the times I'm on, but I'll almost always try to play in or at least watch a Diplomacy game.

Yeah, it would. After thinking more, I can see why even survivor mode was done the way it was done.

Still, a mode where you got 1 per kill and lost 2 per death would be a nice middle ground between Survivor and the other current game modes.

Which is why a threat summarizing the ideas already suggested is a good thing. But I feel that such a thread should be just that - an index, not an editorial.

Hmm. I basically agree with the points in the original post. However, I don't agree that features/changes shouldn't be considered simply because they could lead to bad changes in the future. Evaluate each change individually, like I believe IV is capable of doing, and the game will be fine. The reas...

Then I stand corrected. What ticks me off is when people try to act like they have the official and final word when all they have is their opinion.

Sorry, that other guy who's idea you were defending. :P

At least you give some reasons in your thread.

Um, actually, you can already do that. Just click a little short of the airfield you want 'em to land at, and it'll work like a charm.

What he said.

An an example, I have yet to see any compelling argument for not allowing players to place waypoints - yet waypoints are on your "bad idea" list.

Only slighty; even one unit is enough to put a serious dent in even the largest sub formation (two+ patrolling units is murder). You'll probably never keep casualties to zero, but you win as long as you keep it low enough. I'm just not interested in delegating my offensive firepower (CVs and Subs) t...
