We should be fair here. That is not many. 200 per day is only barely over 8 per hour, assuming things average (they probably don't) you'd assume only one game going at any given time. That's not so good. I would suggest jumping onto any server you see, because I've sat around waiting, decided I was ...

Well, damn, was playing my 2nd multiplayer game ever and the guy started talking about achievements. I should at least have gotten hoarder from that, but... nothing. Oh well.

Awesome. I'll be E-mailing my friends tonight to set up a LAN party. I both hope and believe IV are going to see some additional sales from this. Thanks for listening to the players, guys!

I think the Shamans must have it. Assuming pattern buffer determines what sort of DGs come out (and it may not), the only way we could have multiple different clans using the spawn points would be if the shamans have control of it, or Sevulpedra cut it off.

I was kind of disappointed that the origins of the war are simply forgotten. Something like a fight over the use of the pattern buffer location to control how many of the different clans would have been a nice way to kick it off.

Simplicity? That's the whole appeal of the game. Anything you add gets in the way of that. While it might be interesting to allow some customization between explosives use, lasers, speed, accuracy, etc. (is it me, or do reds toss more grenades?), I'm not sure I'd want anything more than that, and ev...

On Rocket Riot, they're a great stopgap after you've loaded up your rocket and are short of multiwinians. The grenades especially can be good for taking out armour that's attacking you.

Indeed, so are WMDs, so are trunk ports, so are solar panels. I think the question is whether it's worth trying to introduce even more resource management, and I don't think it is. As is, Rocket Riot, probably the most dependent on this idea, is one of the least played game modes. Darwinia is too qu...

Well, I had the chance to give it a try this afternoon (evening UK, obviously). So. Many. Games. So I think the problem fundamentally is I'm trying to play at a time that most people just aren't online. Oh, and irony of ironies - first game I managed to successfully join, was a guy wondering why his...

I've seen a few games running, maybe a dozen at most, usually less, but only once have I seen an open game (and he quit as I tried to join). I'm guessing it's just the time zone.

How long do you have to wait for a game?

So the last couple of nights, I've hopped online to try and get a quick game with real people instead of the CPU. Nothing. Now, i'm probably at a disadvantage that I live in the US Mountain Time Zone, and can only really get the time at 10:30 or 11:30, which is 5:30am in the UK, but I've sat around ...

I don't think it would be quick to implement. Probably quicker than a Darwinia mod, but still... Well, I'm trying to come up with something that would be a minimal amount of work for the IV guys - I figure if we can do that, there's more chance we'll see it. My suggestion uses the existing game mod...

Honestly, I think that we should just allow as much customization as people want. Literally allow them to set a probability for every single kind of box. Who cares if it can "break" the game, include some presets, but let players decide what they want to do, if you don't like it, don't pla...
