I think that ETA timers would entirely be a convience and that most people probably would not use them after a week or so of play because they have gotten a feel for it. Thank you for pointing out the best reason not to implement them then. So now you've changed your opinion from ETA timers will hu...

This actually sounds totally awesome, it would be a completely different game with completely different strategies.
I'm not sure I would like it, but it's the sort of thing that's worth investigating.

I was going to say I have no complaint about the gameplay, and I think I will.
I do have complaints about the interface, but they are minor.

Now you are dropping the ball again... The game is already easy to get into. It's also very forgiving for non-optimised attacks. And between beginners optimised attacks (and then ETA-timers) are never needed to win. Or have fun playing. What you are talking about is removing the last 20% of skill-t...

the campaign thing have been discussed a lot... It would be very hard to make a defcon campaign, cause you blow the world up every time... unless it is a series of missions... first, you blow europe up... then africa... etc etc etc... but that would be quite boring 8) ... Yeah, I said something lik...

I think it could be great fun. There could be missions where no one has silos, and you only have 1 nuke on a bomber, but you have full navies and airfields, and you have to take out an enemy city. That's rather extreme. Also, when i say campaign, i dond't necissarily mean single player, thing Wolfen...

You basically just said you're not qualified to question game balance. It's okay, I'm not either. I'm not good enough at the game to know yet whether it's unfair or I'm just bad.

If you think the skill in this game is judging timing and twitch clicking i feel sorry for you. Chess wouldn't require more skill if the board was invisible, it would just be more frustrating. The challenge of DEFCON is to be the tricksiest, not to be able to count seconds better than anyone else. ...

People have asked for custom unit numbers, but to me, what is really needed is the ability to customize what units each territory gets. With options like that, any kind of special game can be made, and possibly even a "campaign" style series of missions. This would add a lot to the long te...

Re: Recording Gameplay

Is there a way to record a game so that you can play it back later? (In spectator mode) I have looked through the options for this but haven't found it. not yet, but given the demand i suspect it will be implemented soon. especially considering it already buffers a replay. If you spectate an in pro...

The biggest difference in a "realistic" game would be that defcon levels aren't arbitrary and everyone follows them... defcon levels are determinged by what you thinkt he enemy is doing and what you are willing to do. If you think the enemy is at defcon 1, you better declare defcon 1, but ...

To me ETA is a very very important thing to add, not just for missiles, but for any waypoint for all units. You should be able to know exactly how long it's going to be before your subs are in striking distance. As for flight path, it would be very nice to see the arc a missile would follow before f...
