I've enjoyed it completely from the start, old chap, and I hope that most others did too. It is such a lovely little simulation of how utterly damned we'll all be if there is any sort of nuclear combat in the real world in which at least most of us live...

I think you may have been in one of mine... I must really apologise for that. My copy of Defcon crashed, which meant, of course, that my computer had to restart... I was mightily irritated, since there were only 20 minutes left on the victory timer and I seemed about to win! *sigh* Terribly sorry ab...

Well, if you notice, Ireland hasn't got any cities, actually, when it actually has quite a few... Dublin, Belfast, [London]derry, anyone? Not to mention that Britain has more cities than just London and Manchester... Glasgow? Edinburgh? Birmingham?

What about just... clicking the buttons at the top of the screen to pause and all that? It's perfectly possible.

I haven't had any problems, myself... but I shouldn't have said that. I bet I'll get home and it'll immediately start having problems... Sod's Law is too bloody accurate.

Well, I certainly play Defcon and have a nice glass of wine in the evenings... when I'm not drinking tea, that is.

Also, it seems that I've reached one hundred posts, chaps. Huzzah!

I can program about as well as a kitten can hunt elephants, I'm afraid. I do wish you the absolute best of luck, though!

Sounds like just plain bad luck to me, really. A bit of a silly design choice, in a way... but also an understandable one. BigWorld is CPU-hogging enough as it is, after all.

Too much possibility of cheating and/or privacy issues, I'm afraid. A nice idea, but some people would object to having all their chat recorded, even if most would be fine with it. To some people, indeed, it might even be viewed as the equivalent of a keylogger...

I'm sure that IV would very much like to program in that option, but I gather that it wouldn't be possible. Of course, I'm no programmer, so I wouldn't really know...

I much prefer the regular speeds myself, since I'm really not all that good at 'twitch' things, you know... not that it means I at all object to games of Speed Defcon.

I rather detest and pity such idiots... I will use real-time for micromanaging my deployment and similar coordination of launching nukes. Nothing wrong with that whatsoever, in my opinion... so people complaining are just rather silly.

It's just a new type of gameplay, that's all. Since in an optional way everyone will have access, it'll allow for realistic and more impressive nuclear strikes from all sides. Beautiful synchronisation. almost as an art form, it would seem. It adds to the gameplay by, instead of there being a mad ta...
