The video is encoded using Xvid. We will probably be using xvid for all our videos in this dev blog, as it does excellent compression without losing the sharp vector lines. I voted for better AI opponent. I think 95% of all the games of Defcon I've played have been single player against Bot. Are you suggesting they're a mistake? If so, they're not. They're borders for various islands in that area.

You can toggle borders off in the menu if it bothers you.

Fair point but I like having the territory displayed. I just wish the player names were about 50% transparent - not difficult to do.
