I get the same problem trying to put it at 64 channels. I have a soundblaster audigy 2 ZS soundcard, and a dell motherboard of some type.

I would suspect that you'd be ok if you were behind a router, as the authentication servers would only see one IP address. Not sure on it though. Either way, it may be easier to have one legitimate version, and have the others as demo versions... they're not too crippled.

I would imagine that it would have to be something in the order of hundreds of different IP's, from different geographic locations. Otherwise you get these two problems:

1) Dynamic IP addresses break your system
2) Taking the machine/install to different locations breaks your system
