Am I the only one to receive a box, a manual and a postcard...

Nope, I'm not kidding either.

One other little problem is that the text that scrolls up the main menu is clipped at the right hand side. This is because of the notification box IV has placed on the right side of the screen, letting us know they are currently saving the day. GO IV!!! That'd be cool for me, if my game could acces...

Just tried it on another computer on the same network (i.e. it's using the same IP) and even with Norton on and ZoneAlarm present, it authenticated it within about 5 seconds.

I've just messed around with Norton (what a piece of...), but with no luck, it would seem. I've even set it to allow all comms involving DEFCON. No dice. If I put an invalid code in, it says it's invalid. If I put a valid code in, it stays on 'CHECKING'. My debug.txt, with real key filtered... Defco...

Zen in the UK. Port forwarding on the game is enabled, and they're all set to 0. I'll check my router's settings, too.

Unknown. It just sits there with 'CHECKING' flashing on the authentication window. I've put dashes in the spaces, and all that, but no luck.

The root folder goes when you uninstall it (which makes a change!). Aside from scrabbling round in the registry, there's little else I can do to remove DEFCON!

EDIT: There doesn't even appear to be anything in the registry. Darwinia is there, but not DEFCON.

Heck yes. I have the download off the Introversion site, a key from IV, and a boxed copy on the way. The review copy is still there, though. I wonder if that's the problem? EDIT: Removed the review copy and it's still not working. It seems the preliminary release worked better than the real one

Just uninstalled and then reinstalled it. No luck so far...

EDIT: One other little problem is that the text that scrolls up the main menu is clipped at the right hand side. This wasn't an issue with the review code I played, which is strange.

Tried that already, I'm afraid.

It's been 'checking' for 15 minutes now. :(

For the record, I have had DEFCON on pre-order for about 4 days (after seeing the final PCG UK review score, basically). However, when the chance came to play it today, I took it. Let me just congratulate Introversion on making one of the most downright compelling and, indeed, downright creepy games...
