One of the early grants is to hire a psychologist, yet he basically does nothing (although he passively provides us with prisoner information). If a rape has occurred, shouldn't we have to send the psychologist to the victim to repair his/her emotional health, as well as a nurse to mend their physic...

Is there anything I can make available to you that would help you diagnose what this problem is? As no-one else seems to be having this problem, it would appear that my system is doing something stupid, which means I already feel like I've unfairly monopolized your time. This doesn't seem like somet...

Okay, I just got booted for having an illegal copy of the game again. This is starting to get ridiculous. I've been playing non-stop for a few hours. Starting from a fresh install using the 1.31.sh from the CD I received in the mail, upgrading with 1.52.sh and then 1.53.sh. Below are some files you ...

Okay, I thought I was just hallucinating before, but I noticed it again. Run the game in Linux (no pre-existing ~/.uplink folder) on a widescreen (mine's 1280x800). I didn't notice anything wierd yet, but it's possible that the problem is present right from the get go. After successfully registering...

Yeah, this was in Linux using 1.51TRYB. It was probably a bad code sheet. While I'm sure you can imagine my frustration, I didn't mean to sound too accusatory, because I understand how piracy eats into the bottom dollar of smaller firms. I love this game, and I too hope everyone who plays it pays fo...

I haven't installed any fonts external to the game (in fact I'm not exactly sure how I'd do that :)) Well, some people worked out which fonts are used by the game (or extracted them, or mimicked them) so they could be made available to the rest of the system. Although, now that I've checked, I'd al...

Okay, well I went looking for the libfreetype file and couldn't find it. I went and grabbed the .tar.gz file and now the game works perfectly. I'm guessing the .sh file is a little different. I don't really understand why though, because I imagine the .sh file is made from the .tar.gz file. Anyhow, ...

I can confirm that the IRC HUD Client graphical bug on login exists in the Windows version too. On the plus side, because Windows uses a different font, we don't have any awkward font size issues (wrapping, tabbing, etc) like in the Linux version. Something I've noticed, and this may have already be...

Okay, found something else. It's very repeatable, but I have only tested it on the Linux version (might apply to Windows but who knows?). Run Uplink. Login. Open the IRC HUD thingy. Logout. Login. You'll see the OK button telling you you've just signed in. But you'll have the IRC options covering th...
