No. I tried this, and it simply switches the demo player to spectator and doesn't let them change back unless the game mode is set back to being Default.

PNG provides the same quality as bitmap in a smaller file if properly compressed, so it'd be nice to see Defcon (and indeed other games) use it as default. Even MS Paint is using PNG in Vista

Still, I take all my screenshots with cmd-shift-3, so I get nice full-res PNGs. :)

Since i am rather nooby with steam does anyone know how to delete the patch if that fixes it ? You cannot remove patches from Steam games. However, you could copy your authkey file out of the Steam folder, download 1.0 from elsewhere, and paste it into the new folder, and the game should run. You w...

It works perfectly from a graphics/gameplay standpoint in CrossOver Mac, but the sound gets distorted (quite badly in places), which ruins the atmosphere somewhat :(

If you want any more beta testers (I know, I know) I have a shiny new 24-inch iMac here.

Oh, but I already have Defcon on Mac (1920x1200) via the wonders of CrossOver. 100FPS+ on max settings, too. :)

I can host up to about 4 players, but any more and everyone suddenly drops without warning.

NOD32 / University 10mb connection. No software firewall. Countless routers and one proxy.

It's not emulation, it's an API layer. It's running on native hardware.

Re: Defcon + Proxy + Proxy Bypass = no game?!

It's the uni firewall blocking the ports, AFAIK proxies don't block ports. I was using "proxy" as a general term for a machine stuck inbetween you and the connection, which is what any firewalls will be running on  For example our external internet access is via a Squid proxy. We ca...

The first circle you see is the range up to the point of no return. If you send the fighter further than that it would run out of fuel and crash without being able to return to the carrier, so I guess that's why that is where the launch range is capped to.
