Was wondering what became of IV... I have to confess I wasn't enthused about Subversion and Prison Architect doesn't do much for me either. Seeing the tools that IV was coming up with (auto-city generation) I thought it would be a nice randomizer for something awe-inspiring and city-spanning. That w...

Seeking a sound
Now and again sound effects will get stuck in my head, and I'd want to re-use or repurpose them elsewhere if I can, or at least hear them raw. Recently I unpacked the sounds for Defcon looking for a particular sound. It's the SFX played whenever the Defcon status warning is being 'read out' over the...

well... Started to notice slowdowns in my computer's operation and decided to see what was going on by bringing up my task manager. I found two instances of DEFCON running (Both instances when I tried to get the key working). Shut them down, operation returned. It occured to me to try patching again...

Patching issue
Well... I was one of the first players to buy Defcon in a boxed package, and I've had it ever since. It's been around a few places... two harddrives, even stuck on a jump drive and played on school computers. I made sure to keep my game key in mind by writing it down on a post-it note and keeping it...

You can sit there in mindless amazement when you consider the sheer scope of destruction being wrought by the player and actually watch it happen in real time. 'Sides, Introversion has already dealt with near-extinctions (Darwinia), massive nuclear holocausts (DEFCON), and Genocidal warfare based on...

You begin the game with a randomly generated city, filled with peopleoids and vehicles all represented by 2D sprites. There are over a billion of them, all in the city. You begin gameplay by filling up a quota of Bad Things and disasters. Eventually custom-content disasters could be added for fun an...

Your original proposal seemed to suggest such a structure was immune to grenades and lasers, making the MWs inside vulnerable only to 'a lucky shot' from a laser, and so the only way to destroy them was wishing for that lucky shot (and making crowding the bunker the only way to defeat it as a result...

So essentially your bunker idea is just another turret variation? It sounds like it's a slower-turning, shield-equipping, larger-capacity turret that (like turrets now) fires depending on the amount of occupants in it. Essentially, a tougher turret, doing something that turrets do now, only better. ...

I was always under the impression that anthills were never destroyed by fire because they are impervious to lasers. Only projectiles (Gun turret bullets, in other words) and explosives could harm them. Similarly, I assumed armors were also (mostly) immune to laser fire but were harmed by projectiles...
