I've found the solution to cooks escaping is to designate the room or hallway connected to the outside world as employees-only. Working prisoners seem to respect it. Of course then you'll need at least one real cook to fetch those deliveries. As for the deploying problem... Double check that the roo...

You can't download the part where you get to give money to cool people.

That's usually the one that makes customers out of pirates.

IV would have to design a proper banking simulator, tho. It's easy to make a maximum security building (just concrete walls everywhere or whatever) if you don't have to consider how easily the legitimate customers and employees can move around and do their business. It's like in Dwarf Fortress or Si...

Disguises. Getting a uniform is pretty cheap but only fools people in the passing. Getting an ID card is a bit trickier put gets you past security. But if you really want to do it right you have to hire an expert to teach your guys the professional jargon. "We applied the cortical stimulators b...

Hm.

You could still exchange populations. For example, by putting the silos into launch mode so they don't shoot down your friend's bombers and nukes.

Seems to me that all you really need to do is change the scoring method for these multi-winner games. 1 point for kills, -1 points for deaths. Or just play Survivor. But whatever you do, you should never have any soft rules like "don't exchange population or we'll disqualify you" that reli...

Well, you don't always need an alliance to backstab anyway. Sometimes cease fire works, too. Just get a good spot (like the second Defcon 3 starts) to fly fighters and bombers all over his country from all sides. If he doesn't notice soon enough you'll have the locations of all his important facilit...

The betas do not require Steam, and I expect IV to sell a non-Steam version (assuming that they are going to continue working with Valve in the first place). I am sure that you will not be required to use Steam to play online -- that would kind of defeat the purpose of the game. Hm. I'm not so cert...

You really should get the book. It makes you think more seriously about how government should work and why, whereas the deepest thought in the movie seemed to be the ever present parodical "lol fascists". Plus, it's a classic. The actors who played the marines in Aliens had it as required ...

"The enemy can not press the button if you disable his hand."

But yea. If they assault one of the silos or radars wouldn't there be defensive troops to welcome them, too? How far can troops get in 8 hours? News from the Middle-East in the recent years say: Not far.

Going back on the original issue... The world map being cylindrical doesn't necessarily mean the world in the game isn't a sphere, ball or geoid, does it? I mean at the very simplest you could just make the units move faster when near the polar caps. For extra fancy you could even include the Coriol...

You too? :)

Hey all y'all.

These Defcon news just inspired me to see if I can still find and play Theatre Europe on C64. Turns out I never could (I was like 10 at the time), but that's what FAQ's are for, eh?
