Steam Deal on Prison Architect

What do you people think about the deal offer of PA on Steam? I am somehow against it, since it is early access and people that supported the game way before might feel a bit miffed that now people can jump onto the bandwaggon before release at a cheaper rate. It is good to get exposure and more peo...

Reddit IAmA / AmA Prison Guard at maximum security prison

I think this could give some great insight into the workings of maximum security prisons. Beware this is NSFW text content, very disturbing material. "IamA Prison Guard at a maximum security prison, AmA, though you may not like what you hear." http://www.reddit.com/r/IAmA/comments/12ggv0/i...

I vote Mantis, since you already used it/set it up, so why not? Although in the end, you can probably get used to anything. Also used Mantis for other projects, as well as even Excel one time.

Multiple story constructions to save on space. Grouping of cells into blocks, with settings for each individual blocks (confinement block, where prisoners have a different schedule than the rest for example). Ability to give food to prisoners through their cell door by the guards (I have not tested ...

That would kill the atmosphere completely. Maybe if an inmate or worker with the name Benny Hill was in the chase, but it should happen very rarely. And also it should not happen in the alpha. This is the phase of feature development.

I think if they have a private shower in their cell area, it is added to them personally, but a public shower area designation seems a must, if you want to use it that way.

I've also had issues where there is clearly an entrance and the game does not reconise the room (I built a shower room, no one will use it I have built more doors to try and get people in) Did you mark the room as a shower area? Your objective list says no. There is a room-designation for showers t...

I disagree. The delays are only 12 hours and you can have many of them unlocked in paralell, if you have the money (which you get from government sponsoring). Only need an office for the warden and you are set, basically. Janitor on the third day is easily possible. And doctors by the time the priso...

Just a thought, but are the phones part of your yard area? I think that is the way how they are being used, but not sure on that one.

I'm in favor of a forum, although waiting for the release of the paid alpha might be good, because otherwise people will be asking for a release date all the time. :D
Not that I am not in the same position. Can't wait to throw money at this.

I wanted to write something on the statement that "a single bullet could ruin all that nicely made AI code". Isn't that the same problem in Hitman? You can go in all rambo or you can actually try to be sneaky. In that game, there are encouragements to act hidden, undetected, so that you ar...

Re: Introversion at Rezzed (Subversion/Prison Archictect)

I don't see what is fun about running a prison. It is a complex system that needs management, while still retaining its own freedom, so you can only turn and twist a few options (foundation, hiring people) and watch the complex system slowly change its behavior. Same reason why Sim Earth was so muc...

Introversion at Rezzed (Subversion/Prison Archictect)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyKtNERXtdU Most notably was the statement about a paid alpha at 37:55 if I understood it correctly. Other than that, I am really excited about the game and hope it arrives soon. A playable demo game at Rezzed was available, so maybe it is not that far ahead. Did anyon...

Wow I got to get my hands on a beta of this. Even the placeholders look fine, but I guess that has to do with playing Introversion games a lot. Gameplay matters and a clear representation is important. Include the exteriors for gameplay. Have vans with high tech equipment park in front of the buildi...
