Put all the debug junk in a file. I suppose it is annoying to have to scroll past all that. Anyway, I'm kind of hoping they patch this in a few months, because for the most part my vid card does what it needs to; I don't have and would rather not buy another. Thanks for the tip, though.

This issue doesn't seem to have been resolved. My experience post-patch is the same as before the patch: menu is super-choppy even at a low screen rez, even with details all set to low, and when I start a game, I get turfed back to the desktop with the message that MultiwiniaSupport.exe has run into...

I have the choppy-menu program too. It's so choppy I can't even activate any of the menu items. My DX and vid drivers are up to date, although I only have a Radeon 9600. Would really appreciate any thoughts people might have.

But then we'd need actual moons that didn't turn into Death Stars, that just bobbled around in the inky void sucking up your enemy's attention and nukes. :) For this and a billion other reasons, it is gonna be so cool if/when units can finally be added to Defcon. 95% of the new units will be frivolo...

Modulo Xander's comments, this shouldn't be too hard. If you decide you'd like to attempt this, I'd be happy to draw some unit graphics. And the Star Wars movies are right there waiting to have their sound FX sampled. ^_^ It would be really cool to have the planets be space battle stations, a la Dea...

Ta very much. :) There's more stuff in that same directory, but these are really the best.

The original fighter was the only discordant note in the base graphics...

more songs about bombers and fighters

So everyone's probably sick of this by now, but I thought I'd post some alternative fighter/bomber graphics. I originally started tinkering with Cold War and experimental aircraft graphics, but the details I put in didn't really show up in-game; instead, they made the units look muddy and indistinct...

(Edited to make the images work, because I am teh n00b.) This thread lit a fire in my head, and I've spent the last couple of hours messing with Photoshop, making my own planes. I agree with whoever it was that said that the fighter is the only weak graphic in the base version of Defcon. Props to Ki...

VNV Nation is easily my top pick. They're an electro-industrial band whose music is all about grim, unwinnable battles, morally questionable acts, and bloodthirsty gods. And yet they'd still be *much* less creepy than the original soundtrack, which I described in a review of the game as "a subt...
